Hey guys, if a program director asks to set up a time to speak briefly over the phone with you...what do you prepare for? Like....how does one prepare for a conversation that you have no idea what it is about???

I called, they made some decisions, they're meeting again (tomorrow?) she couldn't tell me anything because the director was out. Just kill me. Sitting here with a torn meniscus and ACL and every school is torturing meeee and I'm totally regressing right now but no one gets it!!! AAHG!

@smcg love it, just needed to make sure you aren't one of those monsters that turn the temperature to 80 degrees in a hotel room.
@AspiringScholar17 @RoadtoPhD My commons are cincy, FSU, and UIC if you mean University of Illinois at Chicago Criminology Law and Justice. I know UIC is also UC-Irvine so just being thorough.
Also, I just got an unofficial acceptance from FSU, official to follow according to program director. First one!!

@OmarComin' I'm staying with airbnb for the first time next week in NOLA, 10th-15th it was MUCH cheaper than a hotel so I'm excited to see how it goes. You're right, I should look into prices in KC. MI, right?

I asked cincy and they said no, nothing formal, but Dr. Sullivan might invite people they don't know yet. When I said UIC I mean University Illinois-Chicago SORRY no way I can afford to live in Cali
Yeah I met with my supervisor today to go over the schedule for my internship this semester and I totally prefaced like okay I'm not being rude I promise, but if I randomly look at my phone while we are talking its because it vibrated which means I have an email and I HAVE to check it immediately. She wrote an LOR for me so she gets it and she's very cool about it, but yeah idk how people do anything else and I'm supposed to plan all this stuff for our student association and I don't know if it's a good thing cuz it's something to take my mind off or bad cuz it's just more to worry about.

@smcg I won't know if I am going for a WHILE so if you decide or wanna book a room through booking.com where we can cancel for free and pay when we get there, just in case we end up going, I'm totally down for sharing a room. I'm gonna need to know some stuff about you though, like are you a serial killer and generally what temperature do you like the room to be? LOL the important things, right?
@AspiringScholar17Now I really really want to go to ACJS I would love to meet people that I will hopefully be in the same cohort with!

@AspiringScholar17 I WANT TO GO TO ACJS SO BADLY. Kansas City, MI right? I've only been to social work conferences. I would need to find a crazy cheap room to stay, crazy cheap flight, and volunteer to avoid fees but I SO want to go. Have you been?

Heard the same about FSU. Cincy is my ultimate, I hope I get in I think I would die. So many profs research what I'm into it's basically a perfect fit ugh I wish I'd had more time to study for the GRE I would have done so much better on quant since I basically haven't needed to do math in 10 years. I can relearn it I promise!!!!
