Woot woot =). We now have 6 people from this thread going to Cornell Tri-I. It will be fun =P. You'll see me at UCSD as well.

So, based on my experience, your GPA should be fine (I'm in a slightly different field - Computational Biology), but I have a similar GPA and haven't had a problem getting interviews. Aim as high as you can for the GRE. I think two of the key things are research experience and letters of recommendation. Need to be able to demonstrate that you've done something - try to present your research, if possible. Make sure you have great letters of recommendation. These are the two key things in getting into top PhD programs... As for your list - UW Seattle is difficult to get into, as is Davis. The others are good choices, in my humble opinion.

Haha. I think tie is overkill, so I won't =).

I plan on decent pants, casual dress shoes, sport jacket and dress shirt. Switch jacket for a decent sweater now and then =)

Perfect! Lol! Are you applying straight out of undergrad?

Yeah... I'm waiting for Harvard BIG (Biomedical Informatics), Berkeley Comp Bio - no one seems to have heard anything from those programs yet. I applied Biomedical Informatics to UW - but haven't heard from them yet either. I haven't met anyone else on here applying for Biomedical Informatics yet though - so... just not sure!

Yeah man. The silence is deafening - from a lot of schools... I have UCSD, Berkeley, Stanford (I know this one is usually in January), Harvard, Northwestern, UWashington, Cornell Tri and Harvard out... Not sure what's up or what's going on. I feel like at least one of us here should get interviews at these programs... I just keep checking back anxiously here =P

That sounds about right :). im applying with a BS in Bioinformatics/BS in Biology straight out of undergrad! You are definitely plenty competitive if you have research!
