    Congratulations!! No news in my inbox. Checked out your website -- awesome work. Saw you were at Pioneer Works -- my studio was just a few blocks away on Dikeman/Van Brunt (Supersmith) & spent a couple of years making furniture above the key lime pie shop by the the pier in Red Hook. Congrats again, hoping for myself, no news is not bad news.

    I just had my 1st interview. It went really well! It was for NYC affordable housing lottery! Quick bit about me: I've lived in Brooklyn for the past 7 years and am married w/ 2 young daughters. We'be been living in the same 1br 4th floor walkup for the past 6... I've been applying for these sorts of things for years & was finally selected for an interview (not gaurunteed). If we are chosen for this rent controlled 2br apt in our neighborhood (greenpoint/wburg) -- that is $700 less a month then what we pay now.... I don't know how this might effect the grad school decision, if accepted. Thank you forum, for letting me vent this new variable/"freak out". All good problems.

    I just searched through my gmail & I was notified of an interview at Northwestern on Wed, Feb 3, 2010 --- 7 years ago, last round I applied (whoa!)

    @pdh12 you're applying literary, no? @turkeyslug yeah Iowa! Tho, not painting -- ceramics. Im quite familiar with the department tho -- John Dilg is/has been making really amazing work (and others on faculty). Additionally, the Grant Wood Fellowship brings in a rolling cast of really great artists/teachers (they teach one class/contribute to grad workshops etc + are afforded a studio). This year Tameka Norris is there -- her work is fantastic.

    I applied ceramics to UCLA & Iowa. UC-Riverside - not media specific, Northwestern - not specific & UC-Irvine - Sculpture. My approach was much the same for all 5 apps. Majority of images were my most recent ceramic/sculptural & then ended with some furniture, social practice, performance stuff... same artist statement for ea. www.calebengstromdesign.com
