  1. @DNA15 I emailed USC last week and was told they send out all of their interview offers but things could change if people reject . So I assume I am just awaiting a rejection letter from them unfortunately
  2. @kbash hahaha I feel the same way in that I'm hoping not many knew about it lol. Where are you from? I live about 15 minutes from Philadelphia! Last I reached out to Zohra from the program she said applicants will be notified by no later then March 17th :-) The interview dates they will have are March 31st and April 7th. Fingers crossed for us!
  3. Who else applied to Thomas Jefferson and Bay Path!?!?!? I am anxiously awaiting to hear from them!!!
  4. @kds27 You sound very qualified so I understand your frustration. I think because they have so many applicants this year the programs may be stressing the GRE more soo as a way to ween people out, despite them being qualified. It is nice to know that many people do have to apply 2 or 3 years in a row to get in, however considering I took a year off already to prepare its just a frustrating thought so I can keeping my fingers crossed for Rutgers. I am waiting to hear from Bay Path and Thomas Jefferson, both of which have deadlines in march so my stress continues until I hear from them :-( But thank you I am trying to stay strong, I do agree that it only takes 1 interview to get in! Thank you for your kind words and encouragement!
  5. @Ellaie That would be amazing I would love for your guidance on my statement if I reapply next year! Thank you! Could I have your email to save you in my contacts!!
  6. Did you get feedback as well from your interview? I will certainly reach out to schools in regards to my rejections. I truly hope I can get an interview from Jefferson as well and hoping I don't need to reapply next year but I need to be prepared incase I do. That is really great that Ohio did a phone interview ! Thank you so much for your response!
  7. @Ellaie is this your second year applying? At what point did you ask for feed back? It sucks that 1 small thing such as a test can do so much damage and I actually studied for the GRE for awhile so it's a huge fear of mine having to possibly retake it. You have a decent amount of interviews now so that makes me hopeful if I have to apply again. Did you change your personal statement much the 2nd year around? And did you have the same people write your LOR? Also did you need to retake the GRE? Sorry for all the questions @AspiringGC It can be so discouraging. Some days I feel on top of the world and I am so positive and I think of how much more money I can save with another yr off and how I will have more options next year, but im also bummed out right now. It's just one of those days. Did you apply last year?
  8. This process just sucks. I was so excited in the beginning but after getting 3 rejections its a big ego killer. I already have plans for what to do next year if I do not get in this year. And it sucks that the reason i'm not getting interviews is all because a standardized test :-( I have 1 interview and luckily its a program that was in my top favorites. But it just stinks having so many rejections. I work until 8pm so my dad gets the mail. He knows mail is a bad thing from a college so he knows before I even do that I get rejected and it just blows :-( I had expectations that taking a year off of school to work and get more shadowing experience would really help me to get interviews at least. And it doesn't seem to be true. Looks like programs weigh the GRE more than I was lead on. I was excited thinking I would have options of what school to go too, I was excited thinking I'd be the one choosing in the end. I am grateful for my interview I have, as it was tied for number 1 on my list with another program, but it would have been a good ego booster to know I had more options .
  9. Does anybody know if USF is still sending our interviews? Also Has anybody heard from Thomas Jefferson yet?
  10. That sounds exciting. What is your undergraduate degree in and how did you get the opportunity to teach abroad?
  11. @WBCG I reached out to USC. They already sent out interviews :-(
  12. How did you find that they're interviewing 27? That seems kind of low I thought most programs interviewed about 40 to 50 ?
  13. Congratulations! Do you live in Fl? When is the interview and were you told by phone, mail or email??? :-) Maybe i'll hear today.
  14. @KeepSwimming2017 A whole lotta nothing :-( I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can lock down atleast 1 more interview. My heart Is at Rutgers but I'd love to get more interviews so I have options. I don't think we will hear from them until next week though considering they're a new program
  15. If you don't mind me asking, what types of changes did you make when reapplying this time around? How are you different now than last year? I ask because you have an impressive amount of interviews and right now I only have 1 :-)
  16. I don't get PTO :-( Perks of working for an endocrinologist who runs his own business. But I get all the hours I want so hellooooo overtime lol . Yeah if you are the morning we get to have lunch together!
  17. Oh my goodness I feel your pain! I have so much pressure on me currently. My family plans a cruise every year with my step family (15 people)... Well typically we start planning by now but everyone is waiting to see where I get into school next year so that I know the winter break dates aka so we can go at that time. I'm holding up family vacation and everyone ask me all the time "have you heard from schools yet". No one really understands how competitive it is and when I explain how each school gets about 200 applicants and take on average 5-8students they are shocked... But they continue to ask! Holy pressure! haha We will make it where we want to be someday, just stay strong and know that we are pretty smart, hard working people to even apply to such a competitive program, and nobody else's opinions matter. Try to enjoy your free time and keep thoughts else where!
  18. I will be at Rutgers on the 27th! I am doing the 12:30 interview! Maybe we will cross paths!
  19. That's great to know thank you! On their additional application, did you submit LOR and resume on their as well? I don't think we had too, so I didn't. I only had my letters sent to SOPHAS. Only thing I added to the additional application were my unofficial transcripts.
  20. Yes, I completed that. I am sure it is complete but it's pretty vague and confusing. Fingers crossed because that is a lot of money to go down the drain if I didn't submit it right! Let me know what your SOPHAS looks like! Thanks!!
  21. Anyone who applied to South Florida. I am so confused. I had an emailing saying my application was in review and when I log into SOPHAS it says I am verified and paid, but where it says "submit application" is says 0!!! Is this the same for anyone else? I am so nerve wracked right now. I also applied to Bay Path and submitted my personal statement, but when I emailed today to check on the status she said she did not have my personal statement, despite the fact that when I log in, it's on there....
  22. Happy valentines day to all my hardworking, stressing out, fellow applicant. Lets hope that today brings us no heartaches, and only good news!!! Fingers crossed for us all!
  23. You have PDF for chapters of "ethical dilemmas in genetics and genetic counseling" ? If so could I ask you to email them to me!!!? reeve_taylor@yahoo.com :-)
  24. We should help each other out, whether you have been interviewed yet or not, and post some good practice interview questions! I will be doing a mock interview with 3 genetic counselors next week, and will provide those questions we practice with next week!!
  25. I understand your anxiety. I got an interview with Rutgers. Denied from UNCG. I am assuming I will be rejected from Virginia considering everyone seems to have heard from them. But I am still waiting on Bay Path, Thomas Jefferson, Arcadia, University of South Carolina, and University of South Florida. Thomas Jefferson has a really late deadline this year and said people will hear back by March 18th (so far away!!!)
