Hi everyone! Does anyone know anything about the visa process? I just got accepted to Thailand but can't find anything about visas. I would like to return to an internship abroad this summer before my grant starts but I need my passport to do so. I had to get a student visa when I studied abroad in Spain and the consulate had my passport for a few weeks, is it similar to that process? Sorry if this has already been discussed and thank you in advance!

Every country is different, so idk how useful it will be unless someone is familiar with Thailand. That being said, I know a couple people who have been abroad the summer before their Fulbright and they can work with, in your case, the Thai embassy in x country. (My friend is doing CLS Chinese and Fulbright Colombia, and she will get her Colombian visa this summer in China.)

Hope that helps! Sorry I don't know I don't know specifics about Thailand.

Although it is not technically Fulbright, does anyone know if decisions have been sent out for Austria USTAs? It seems like in previous years they have been sent out by now, but I am seeing no evidence of this year's decisions on the web (or in my constantly-refreshed inbox).

Not sure if you got this resolved, but I believe my friend was accepted to this today. Hope that helps!

  3. I go to Truman, a small state school in Missouri, and of our 9 ETA semifinalists, 8 of us are finalists and the 9th is an alternate! We are all overjoyed and can't believe our good luck!

FOUR to Spain (including me), one to South Africa, one to Korea, one to Georgia, one to Nepal, and an alternate for Colombia. I'm a very proud Bulldog today!

Andorra ETA was announced today!!! Any other finalist here?

The clarity, despite what fate, was much needed. Good luck everyone who awaits with impatience.

Congrats! I'm a Spain ETA and am hoping to visit Andorra at some point. Maybe we will run into each other!

Ugh I've been locked out of my account for half an hour because I forgot my password! I've been lurking for the last month. Israel ETA finalist! Congrats to all the other finalists! Alternates, don't lose hope! I know several people from my university who have been bumped up in the past!

    Wow, huge congrats!!!!!

Never forget the person who obviously trolled the Spain ETAs yesterday! Fingers crossed

To be fair it did actually make the notification a surprise! And it makes for a better story when telling my friends haha

I WAS SELECTED FOR A FULBRIGHT ETA POSITION FOR LA RIOJA SPAIN! I'm a senior in college and teach Spanish in an immersion program once a week to kids and I checked my email during class this evening (my kiddos probably thought I was insane) and I couldn't help but leap for joy once I read my email! I am so lucky! Being a first generation college student and the first in my family to graduate high school, I don't feel I even deserve such a prestigious award. :) Who else will be in La Rioja, Spain with me? We all have to talk!!! :)

Hoping for Galicia! That's what I put. Did they tell you officially you'd be in La Rioja? I don't have my placement yet!

Also... LOL at the rep before for straight up telling you Spain wouldn't come out today because they hadn't received the decisions...

    Haha yes so unexpected today!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU everyone for the kind wishes! Doing backflips! Congrats to all other grantees from today as well!

...did you happen to learn who they were working on? Although the person that does Europe doesn't do Germany soooo

I didn't ask, sorry. But it's not like she can not give you it because you call, it's not her decision anyway. I'd go ahead and call!

What number do you call/what do you say? Asking for a friend ;)

    Haha. Sure you are ;)

If you go onto the website http://us.fulbrightonline.org/countries/regions and click on the region, the American contact person will be listed on the left side of the page.

No notifications today! I hope they are doing a big one like Spain ETA or something.

I'm officially shameless and have no qualms with calling. Just checked, they aren't working on Spain and it probably won't be today since they haven't heard decisions from the country yet.
