  1. @Omics’n’stuff Thank you so much for that honest answer! I'm definitely interested in Data-science oriented research, which is why I was still considering CMU to be an option. But, one major constraint would be the cost of attendance. The MSCB course at CMU costs twice as much as the MSBINF course at GaTech. Whether the "cost of attendance" is less/more than the "opportunity cost" of not attending CMU, is a huge factor in the decision. Also, as you rightly mentioned, "the city" and "things to do for fun", is pretty high up in my priorities as well!
  2. I've gotten 2 admits as of now: MS Bioinformatics at GaTech MS Computational Biology at CMU Need to make a decision. Any advice?

  4. Just received an admit from Georgia Tech via email. Really excited!
  5. Thanks a lot for the wishes! I received an admit couple of hours ago from Georgia Tech! =D
  6. Hi! Sorry for the late reply! Since I last posted here, I've been fortunate enough to get in touch with a few professors who've been really positive at GaTech and UIUC regarding RA positions. And I'd filled up something known as a 'pre-application' for GaTech around September, to which I was notified that I should complete my formal applications at the earliest, for early admissions. So I've gone ahead and completed my applications to MS Bioinformatics at GaTech and UIUC, and MS Computational Biology at CMU. Received an email from the coordinator at GaTech yesterday, saying that the early decisions will be announced sometime this week! Hoping for the best
  7. Hey! So I've applied to MS Bioinformatics at GaTech, CMU and UIUC as of now. I've been in touch with a couple of professors at GaTech and UIUC who've been positive about an RA position. So a couple of days ago, I received an email stating that they'd make early decisions for GaTech this week. So all the best to everyone for that
  8. I will be sending in early applications within the next 20-22 days, for the Fall '18 in-take. The list is as follows: (NOT IN ANY PARTICULAR ORDER) -Carnegie Mellon (MS Computational Biology ) -IU Purdue Uni of Indianapolis (MS Bioinformatics) -UC San Diego (MS Bioinformatics) -John Hopkins (MS Biomedical-informatics) -Virginia Tech (MS Bioinformatics) -Boston University (MS Bioinformatics) -Georgia Tech (MS Bioinformatics) -University of Michigan Ann Arbor (MS Biomedical-informatics) -Northeastern University (MS Bioinformatics) -Indiana University Bloomington (MS Bioinformatics) -Rutgers (MS Computational and Integrative Biology) I would love to hear inputs on these universities.
