Has anyone accepted any offers anywhere? I know this thread is usually filled with stress and worries, but I'm curious to know if anyone has made a decision yet!
-
I also meant Oklahoma! Sorry for the confusion!
-
I haven't, but I'm anxiously awaiting. Could you PM me your POI?
-
Just got waitlisted at DePaul
-
I haven't heard from Clemson, but I'm really hoping they start contacting soon...
-
I agree that you should go if you can- not everyone who was offered admission will accept, so if you go it's more likely they'll choose to admit someone off the waitlist that they've met than a stranger.

Just got an acceptance letter from CMU! Finally feel like the stress is going down...

I got a call from the departmental secretary at Akron (she left a message as I was in class) and she said she had a question for me; called back but it was after business hours so I had to leave a message. Anyone got any ideas what it might be about? I checked online and and all my forms were submitted and no paperwork is missing..

NC State has their interview weekend this weekend!
-
I agree that the results are a mess!

Hey everyone! @Stauce made this google doc that we can all edit and add when programs send out interviews, acceptances, rejections, etc. It's a little less bogged down than the results section here. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hJFI7od93wXNHfLiUl0pv4lPUsueRmVg_6N85xgFQd8/edit?usp=sharing

I added some info to the doc- I really like this idea! Do you mind if I share it in the I/O psych forum so they can add as well?
-
I've only heard back from one, and they did things fairly early this year. Everything else has been silence- I'm trying not to give up hope because it is technically still early! I haven't, but I also am really hoping they send out things soon. Could you DM me your POI?
-
Did you hear about Penn State from people who have already gotten invites? Just curious if they had started sending invites already.
-
It looks like NC State has sent out a good portion of their results. I know for sure that Tulsa has already sent out their interview weekend invite.
-
I second this! Please PM me as well
-
Thats pretty fast- I am really curious about what their app looked like! I wish I was that impressive haha
-
Me too! Hopefully you will make it to the second hurdle and I will see you at their interview weekend!
-
I was looking through the old results section and it looks like some schools started notifying invitations to interview weekends as early as Jan. 13th- so we could hear back soon!

Hi! 1. Yes! Usually, you would be an adjunct professor or a guest lecturer. I also know people who teach online classes for local universities. 2. I feel like that very much depends on what you want to do with it and how successful you want to be. The balance for a professor and a consultant will be different. 3. I think you hit it on the head when you say it depends on location. I have heard anywhere from 50K (professor at a small university) to 150K starting salary (someone with more previous work experience and connections). This also depends on what you do because there is a large difference in how much a college professor makes and a corporate consultant makes.

Im currently attending TU, so if anyone is applying there PM me and I can give you more information! My top choices are TAMU and Penn State- I am really interested in the work of professors there, they seem like places I could see myself living, and are good schools all around.

Hey everyone! I was just curious how your apps were going since Dec. 1st is creeping up on us! Where did everyone end up applying to? I applied to: Penn State Ph.D Clemson Ph.D TU Ph.D Uni. Oklahoma Ph.D Rice Ph.D CMU Ph.D Texas A&M Ph.D Akron Ph.D DePaul Ph.D Middle Tennessee State Masters

Does anyone have good info on the real difference between a true I/O program and all of the offshoots? Obviously, when narrowing down my lists its difficult because there are quite a few schools that have Organizational Science degrees and other variations.

Where can I/O psychologists work?
Daisy0124 replied to TheIndustrialClinician's topic in Psychology Forum
I know I/O psychologists that work in TONS of places. Schools, corporate, testing services- a lot of places hire them to work in HR. I have seen cities with an I/O psychologist as the HR director for a city, HR director for a hospital, etc. There are tons of options. -
Yes! Thats the worst part. Also, in a lot of my research the average GRE scores are VASTLY different on the SIOP page for the grad schools and for the grad school's websites. I have a longer list that I might trim down once I take the GRE, but I've heard 10 is a fairly normal number. Right now I am thinking: CSU CMU ODU U. of Oklahoma U. of Tulsa U. of Houston TAMU Penn State U. of Ohio Rice Wayne State Where are you applying?
