  1. I got accepted by Penn State, Department of C & I, with emphasis on second language education. Still waiting on the funding info though. Anyone knows anything about the program? Please let me know!
  2. Worries: This is my second year, and I'm really stressed out. I've been keeping asking myself what I'm going to do if I didn't get in again? Try a third time? I'm not sure I can handle the stress one more time. I'm also worried about my references if I didn't get in again. Who will be willing to write me recommendation letters three years in a row? I couldn't ask any of my professors/supervisors to do that for me. Excitements: I know this is my passion and I really want to do it. I'm not afraid of anything that's waiting for me in grad school. I also have contacted some POIs in my field and had relatively good email exchange with them (I think), and they were being really encouraging. I have decent GPA and TOEFL (as an international student), and some pubs. I truly hope I can get in one program and hope everyone who's been trying and working hard for it finally get in the programs they want. Fingers crossed!
  3. I'm working on my application materials and I already had a draft of sop. however, some schools require submit both personal statement and academic statement. I'm wondering what I should focus on both statements. should I include my research and working experience in personal statement while focusing on gradute study plans and research interest in academic statement? Thanks everyone.
  4. I got a few actual replies (not like "thank you for your interest" or "please apply" that kind of replies), for the professors who haven't replied, I'm still waiting on them and ready to move on ...
  5. Thank you for the suggestions! Really helps!
  6. Do you mind if me asking how to follow up? I sent emails to 2 professors a week ago and they haven't responded.
