  1. I keep trying to login as well, but no luck. It won't let me check my status. Assuming rejection.
  2. Just realized that might have been to see how you react under pressure ??‍♂️ Still kinda messed up though. Agh!!!!! What, so rushed! ? Sorry this happened to both both of y'all ?
  3. I am pretty sure they would have left a voicemail. Both schools use the interviews to then make a final decision as to who will be accepted. I believe RISD will only take 10 people into the painting program from the pool of applicants they are interviewing and Columbia picks 8ish painters from their pool. Those are still really good schools to hear back from!
  4. Columbia painting interview invitations were done over the phone on Feb.4 and RISD sent out painting interview requests out via email on Feb.26. Sorry ?
  5. I think in the email it says Mar.10
  6. Yeah, they called me yesterday. No financial aid info yet though.
  7. Do y'all know where the studio tours take place/start from and at what times?
  8. Columbia University, in New York, already sent out interview notifications over the phone. I got a call from the painting department on Feb. 4th and I have my interview scheduled next week. As far as I know no one has heard from the painting department at RISD, but other programs at the school have.
  9. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/01/04/arts/design/thomas-roma-columbia-retires.html A friend from the forums mentioned this to me and I thought I would share it with y'all. Photography professor at Columbia, Thomas Roma, has stepped down from the university. Read through the article to see why. Hope y'all who are interested in photography at Columbia know about this.
  10. Columbia called for painting interviews on the 3rd or 4th of February if I remember correctly. I have my interview scheduled for Mar.1st.
  11. @Zander According to the article I posted a while back, there were 167 interviews and 98Charleston mentioned that those numbers were across all the departments. In the article it did also state there were 70 painting finalists. So if there are 70 painting finalists then there are 97 applicants for the rest of the departments. Basing my numbers off of the recent SAIC interview model, which has an interview every 30 minutes from 9-4:15, with two 15min breaks and a lunch break, there should be a minimum of 12 interviews a day at Yale. Hypothetically if all the spots for interviews at Yale are filled from Feb.26-Mar.2 there should be a minimum of 60 painting/printmaking applicants interviewing for the painting/printmaking department. After interviewing at SAIC and seeing the large number of applicants however, I honestly believe that Yale would have that many painting/printmaking applicants interviewing. So it does look like Yale should have an average of 60 applicants for roughly 20 spots.
  12. Same, 30 minutes literally flew by. Wish they had more time to talk. Also they said they would email us to let us know who would be interviewing us the day of and nothing was sent. Kind of miffed about that. My interviewers didn’t even introduce themselves by name to me...
  13. SAIC-Intervied today, but the interview felt rushed. I feel as though I only did so so. Yale-Interview on 2/27 Columbia-Interview on 3/1 RISD - No news yet, but maybe people will hear from them this week UCLA - ??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️
  14. So so on my end. Even though I prepared they asked very specific questions regarding my art practice.
  15. Curious to hear how everyone else's SAIC interviews went? Felt a bit rushed through mine and was only able to ask two questions towards the end. Bit of a toss up for me tbh ??‍♂️
  16. @let_me_in is going to a performance open studios. Trying to meet up there! Don't live in Chicago so I don't know the area too well!
  17. I did get in touch with her. I was then directed me to another person within the department. I called and left my info, but no luck. Decided to move forward with planning and shipping. ??‍♂️ @jailcowboy Mentioned they were mid crit season so maybe that is why they did not get in touch. It has been a week now, but I already shipped stuff out sooooo idk lol
  18. Anyone else having trouble getting in touch with Yale? I emailed them on Thursday and it is now Tuesday and still no response ??‍♂️ ?
  19. No worries! Also, anyone else interviewing for painting on the 27th?
  20. Just booked an Airbnb for $57 and it is a 25 min. walk to campus. Saw some cheaper listings, but were much further from the university. Didn't want to add an uber or lyft to the price tag. Trying to save as much as possible.
  21. Same... I am on the west coast and I don’t even want to know how much it would cost to ship my work to and from Yale. I am talking to some shippers today to get some quotes. Hopefully I won’t have to sell an arm or a leg ?
