Which school & was it email or in the portal?

I’m thinking of pulling a “George” & just showing up on interview day at my #1 school & acting like I was invited.

I agree. Did extremely well in my masters program. 161/161/4 on GRE. Published, 2 years research post masters. Won awards. Blah blah blah. I will have to retake the GRE as well for next year. I don’t understand the process. Also, I have very strong recs.

So I guess I’ll cross that off my list as well. Sad about that one. I thought I was a perfect fit.

I haven’t received any rejections but the interviews are soon & my POI’s have invited others so I consider it a “soft” rejection.

I only have 1 left out of my top 5. Upsetting.

Is it safe to say this is the week of truth?!?!?

I have 2 and I’m concerned that they may not result in any offers (had 2, 2 years ago & no offers). Why don’t you focus on the ones at the top of your list & decline the others. There are so many qualified applicants here hoping for a chance & it would be very kind of you to give them that chance if you’re not really interested in the program.

I did that & got a favorable response. Unfortunately I don’t think I’m going to be invited to my top choices so I’m getting anxious to accept the invite but I don’t want to cancel later if my top 3 choices do end up inviting me.

I missed a call from a POI & they followed with an email right after. I don’t think I’ll be answering my phone this month. I’m not great when unprepared.

To the uconn poster— was the email from your POI or from the department? Do you think all invitations have been extended?

I was recently invited to a program that I could be happy with but it is not at the top of my list & the date could potentially conflict with some of my top choices. My top choice was uncertain as to whether they’d be reviewing apps. I have met with this Dr in the past so they know who I am. Is it appropriate to send an email letting them know that they are my top choice and I would like to know the status? I will not cancel any interviews once I’ve accepted.

How do you respond to an interview invitation from a POI if it conflicts with some of your higher choices that haven’t invited you yet? I’d like to wait a little longer before responding but I also want them to know I’m very interested in their program and thrilled to have the opportunity to interview with them.

Last round I went to a bakery. May not be the best advice though. I didn’t get an offer lol.
