Advanced standing candidates that haven’t heard back yet! PSA! They just told me my application is in the final review stages. I applied 12/2 (officially 12/8). Anyone apply before that and hear the same thing? Also sending good vibes to those who applied after me. Yours should be getting to those final stages soon!!!

They seem to be going through that program's applicants faster. I heard they had a lot of advanced standing candidates and someone that applied 11/30 (Advanced Standing) is still is waiting so I am waiting for them to hear back because I'll hopefully be soon after lol

I would agree and say grad school is your chance to branch out. Social work is flexible which is great but this is our prime time to explore before we really give our all to this career..... Personal opinion of course lol. that is why I am choosing to temporarily relocate. There are TONS of ASPs, but if you didn't have time to check them out then its understandable. CSULB gets so much amazing feedback!! If that is where your heart is, it's still a great choice. Anywho, I can't wait to hear what you choose!

You have to realize, not everyone is invested in Colombia. You may very well get your spot. But I know I’d feel the same. We are here for you!!! Waitlist is better than a rejection!!

Ahhh!!! They are going by when you were completely finished huh I didn’t have my field eval in until 12/8. I have been admitted to NYU and I’m most likely attending, depending on Columbia’s decision.

It’s best to just check between 5 and 6PM EST. I think they set that as the time to send a batch. Check your emails and the portal over the next hour/hour and a half. If there’s no changes, we do the same tomorrow lol

I am glad to hear that someone is in the same boat as me lol. I have an interview next week for a job at Columbia actually! ? so I may be moving at the end of July. I’d like to move sooner though. But Apple, wow!! There should be pretty good summer jobs in that field right? But moving home sounds good. That’s really helpful too. I’m sure if you continued to look in April you’d find something tho!! This is a prime time for job postings, especially for summer jobs. Thank you so much for the reply! Hi! I’m advanced standing for the Advanced General Practice and programming!! I applied 12/2 so I’m really hoping to get something like today or tomorrow haha. THEIR SYSTEM IS INTRICATE. I don’t get why they would do it like that. But anywho, I’m in the same ballpark as you!

I’m moving to NYC!! I think I’m going to apply to the dorms. lots of money. But safer and closest. I’m coming from Los Angeles so I don’t have the option to go check out places before paying!

I just called again. They said by the end of next week....“hopefully”. Not giving up on them but it’s important for me since I’m an advanced standing student and would have to make my summer available for the program. I applied 12/2 and was considered “priority”. Has anyone been rejected yet??? Someone please disclose (if you’re comfortable). We know that you will be valuable in any MSW program. We just want to know if they’ve sent rejections yet! ?? Lastly, am I crazy or am I the only Advanced General Practice & Programming applicant here? I don’t think they go by concentration but I’m curious to know if anyone in my concentration received a decision. My reach school UC Berkeley already waitlisted me so I’d be shocked to get denied by Columbia at this point. Yikes, I’m venting again. I think I’m going to take a break from this starting this weekend ? thanks for being a great online support group!

I got waitlisted from UC Berkeley today if anyone is waiting for a decision!

I had to take a break from all this for the weekend lol. I see that we are still on the same page and some have been accepted or waitlisted (which means they are getting somewhere, congrats!). I’m still waiting to hear back. I applied to UC Berkeley the same day as Columbia and I got notified today that I’ve been waitlisted for UCB ha. Columbia is my first choice but for me to apply to 10 schools and already heard back from 8, Columbia is making me uneasy. I have no new info for everyone, I just wanted to vent lol. I’m still wishing us the best!!! I’m leaning toward NYU at this point. If anyone else is going to a school in NY, id love to connect! ALSO! Am I the only advanced generalist applicant?!? I’m also advanced standing.

How’s your prep for moving going?! This is difficult already lol
