It depends on the work you're doing. You need something to show you're capable of independently directed research. I worked in biotech prior to grad school, and the incoming class in my program has 3-4 students coming from biotech/pharma

Just got rejected from rockefeller Does anyone know if NYU is done sending out invites? It looks like they sent a wave out in December so I'm not super hopeful Interviews: Columbia, UCSF, Yale Waiting on: NYU? Rejected: Mt Sinai, Rockefeller and harvard

I just got the rejection as well. I'm glad I got interview offers from other schools before this otherwise it would sting a bit more.
