  1. Does anybody know how the elongation of the scholarship work? How long does it take until they let us know if we are funded for another year?
  2. Great Yes thats what I've expected, but I've also heard, the partner can still get the subsidy when earning around 450 Euros. I think this would be quite doable for someone not too capable of German (most of the employers unfortunately require a good level of German, even for dishwashing ?
  3. Anybody here will be accompanied by boyfriend / girlfriend when going to Germany? For phd students I have read that we can apply for a financial subsidy by DAAD for the partner
  4. What about other scholarships? On the daad website you can also find scholarships offered by different organizations than daad.
  5. On the portal a tab opened witH it
  6. Maybe in Berlin around September or October I think everyone should be settled by then
  7. Isn’t there anyways such thing like a meeting in Bonn with all the newcomers?
  8. Also try other scholarships, there are plenty. For example KAS, and other political party scholarships. I am sorry to hear about your rejection. But I don't think they only fund people from renowned universities. I am from Costa Rica and i was at an unknown university and was accepted , while a friend of mine from a prestigious university got rejected. Also my advisors and professors don't know anything about DAAD. Could be also different depending on the regions. I know that in Costa Rica very few people apply to DAAD.
  9. When does it start for you and which niveau of German are you? I take the B1, however, in marburg
  10. OHh I signed mine lol i wanted to make sure not to make any mistakes with that hahaha
  11. mine is in marburg, i already received the accomodation information
  12. I contacted my future PhD supervisor and he told me I have to do it once I arrive to Germany. He said generally for PhD students there is no hurry for that
  13. Same here
  14. Yaaaay congrats, I am happy to see that all of us phd students receive positive news
  15. Dates only change when you did not enter a one year period at the time of application. for example i entered the whole period for phd (3 years) and they changed it to one year, so if you already entered one year, they wont change it. and in my case they asked me if i want to participate in language training and also concerning status / dates changes.. there seems to be no "frame" which they follow. they always seem to do something different with all applicants.
