hi @Jigsaw_Saran, just curious why Harris is your first choice over SIPA?
-
If the financial situation is actually comparable - Harvard. Speaking as an international student from a developing country, the Harvard brand name carries more weight here than any other university.

@MidCareerApp People here on the forum confirmed getting congratulatory emails.

@Stumble, you can follow HKS on Twitter here https://twitter.com/hksadmissions. I'm sure they'll post as soon as decisions are sent.

Congratulations to those who have received an acceptance from WWS.
Do you think everyone has received the results? I have not yet received a rejection email.
Also, has anyone heard from HKS yet?
Hi @Stumble. Nice to see you're still active on this platform.
WWS has sent out informal congratulatory acceptances. So those not contacted thus far should assume a rejection.
Nobody has heard from HKS yet, but release of results seems imminent.

Berkeley, definitely. MIT's whole program is devoted to science studies. Princeton and Harvard for med anthro.

Guys, I applied for early action and was waitlisted. They said my application would be reconsidered with the first-round applicants. But my status on the portal hasn't changed - no acceptance, no rejection, not even a renewed waitlist.

Did Stanford send out the result already? I thought nobody heard any news yet in archaeology.
Check the portal. I found my rejection letter waiting for me there.

I would love to know people’s opinions on this. So I got into my dream program and am going to be working with my perfect POI. However, they are not offering very much funding. Definitely not enough to survive on. Is it worth it to go to the perfect program and maybe have to take out loans or choose a different less perfect program with full funding?
I really do not think it is wise to incur debts for graduate study, especially in a discipline like ours which isn't particularly marketable (read: there are very, very few jobs).

Unlikely you'll receive a helpful response, but no harm giving it a shot.

Does anyone have trouble accessing the Stanford web portal? Literally, everytime I attempt to access it, its as if I'm still on page 5 of the application. It has been happening even before I submitted my application.
It has grown tiring!!
Stanford has, by far, the worst designed application portal of all the schools I applied to. And I applied to quite a few.

Someone posted a Columbia interview a week back...have all interview requests been sent out? Does Columbia interview all applicants it admits?
Wondering if I should extinguish all hope.
-
They're just admitting fewer students, I'd guess. I just wish they'd release the final decisions already, especially since the interview was apparently on 26 Jan.

Which subfield are you? I applied for arch, so I am sure I can join the rejected party here.
I'm sociocultural. They usually admit 8, so perhaps the four time slots were reflective of the four sociocultural positions and maybe arch is decided separately...?

Looks like an administrator emailed that person offering 4 slots. Eek.
Such a bummer. Was my top choice. Sigh...

Omg I just got accepted to Cornell with full funding + summers !! So excited!
Congrats!!!! May I ask who sent the mail?

I see a UCLA post on the results page. I'm wondering who notified the poster of their rejection. Usually acceptances are released simultaneously, if not earlier. I haven't heard anything yet and don't know what to make of it.

And also to anyone who might have input, is there a different timeline that they review the applications for international and domestic students? Or send out acceptance letters/interview requests? Any international students here who can shed some insights PLEASE DOOOOOO I'm literally panicking rn
Hi! Fellow international applicant here. Though my knowledge is limited, but place of residence is irrelevant as far as notifying applicants goes. Application assessment varies by sub-discipline (in some cases), and not according to where the applicant lives.
The best way to decipher your future would be to see 1) if the interview notifications so far are in your sub-discipline; 2) if these notifications have been communicated by POIs in a personalised manner, or if it's the AdCom that's sent them out in a mass email.
I too have applied to Yale and Berkeley and am yet to hear from either. I'm pretty sure bad news is on the way from Yale since all sociocultural interview requests have already been sent. Still holding out some hope from Berkeley though...

I don't think it was a personalised email since i noticed that so far there are two interview results posted and both of them were completed on Jan 15th.
BTW i am also a brown applicant. I am almost disheartened since I found myself get no interview information from the program. Tears.
Going by previous years too, Brown doesn't seem to have a staggered interview process.
So yeah, it's safe for us to assume a rejection. Sucks.

To the person who posted the Brown interview, do you mind sharing your sub-field and whether it was a personalised email?
