In general. I had a few classmates/ friends apply from different fields that had mentioned the MA funding was lacking, but that may have just been for those particular cycles. I was one of the posters from yesterday. I noticed some others have posted as well so you should hear something soon. Good luck!

No specifics, but I’ve heard their funding is somewhat lacking for MA students and PhD canidants get most of it.

Just received an acceptance from USF! It's one of my top choices so I was super excited when I got the email from the graduate director.

Congrats! It seems like a good program. Who is your POI, if you don’t mind me asking? Im applying for the MA program. I didn’t read too much into the follow up email. Although it said we would receive acceptance letters from someone, I didn’t take it as I got accepted. Still staying positive though!

I applied to UWF as well. Still haven’t heard anything. I’m still waiting on: UWF, USF, LSU, UPitt, U-Amherst, and CSU-Chico. I already got rejected from UC-Boulder. I wasn’t a good fit there and it was a stretch to try to fit my interests with theirs so it was expected. I haven’t seen anyone that has been accepted to any of those schools yet aside from one at LSU. Speaking of which, did anyone that applied to LSU get a weird acceptance email? I got two of the same emails from the department and it started with Congratulations and I was accepted so my heart stopped for a second but as I kept reading, the email didn’t make sense (bad wording, wrong dates, grammar mistakes, etc) and it was obviously was an error. A follow up email from someone in the department 5 minutes after apologized for the email going out and that it was a glitch in the system.

@bioarch_fan I also applied to: LSU, UMASS-Amherst, CSU-Chico, University of Colorado-Boulder, University of West Florida, and University of Pittsburgh. All MA programs.

Like Itr317 said, it depends on the program. Most schools have requirements listed on their admissions page. Some want official transcripts (from every institution) initially. Others may only want them once you’ve been accepted and may base their decision on unofficial transcripts. Since most schools send transcripts for free, it doesn’t hurt to go ahead and send official ones, though this can be tedious depending on the amount of applied schools and attended schools/programs. When in doubt just contact someone in the graduate department, or your POI, for verification.

I applied to the University of South Florida. The deadline was the earliest (Dec 15), so I’m hoping to hear something back soonish! I applied to 6 other MA programs as well. Good luck!
