  1. I was just about to comment on that! My stress is through the roof. Time to check my email 200 times a day, instead of the regular 100!
  2. I got it as well. I think it’s just a standard email, but when I read the email my heart was racing. I started with scanning for key words, like “congratulations,” because I couldn’t bear to read the full email first. Man, this just caught me unaware — I thought it was a decision email. I really can’t wait till February!
  3. Yeah I remember reading a 3000+ number on a thread on this forum last year; someone had posted their acceptance letter verbatim. Man my heart is racing!! Even though I’m not applying for the circuits group, I think this indicates that the results might have a Feb first week release, similar to last year. I’m so excited! 2 more weeks!
  4. Same here! I’ve been taking it an hour at a time myself, and just the concept of going through this for another 2 months is just...too much sometimes. I can’t focus on anything except for refreshing the GradCafe results page, my email, the various application pages, and this forum. I have no idea how to last another 9 weeks...
  5. Oh, wow. Best of luck with your surgery, and with your grad school results!! Your health is a lot more important than admissions, so don’t stress out too much post-op. Easier said than done, I know! But, regardless, good luck with everything!
  6. Ugh, I'm getting so anxious -- somedays I feel like I'm going to throw up any minute due to the stress. I feel like my obsessive email checking is just adding to the stress, and I'm constantly under an adrenaline-fueled fight-or-flight mental state from the moment I wake up. This wait is the absolute worst. I completely understand that the selection process is time and labor intensive, but I really do wish they would release results sooner, rather than later. I genuinely do not know how I'm going to last until late March. I guess it won't be quite as bad once I get some acceptances under my belt, but it's absolute mental torture right now.
  7. I’ve seem to have acquired a new hobby: alternating between checking my email and TheGradCafe every 5 minutes! Can’t say it’s too healthy, however. I’m getting nothing done at work, since I’m so anxious about results. You’re not alone; grad school results are on my mind 24/7, it’s basically what I think about going to sleep and what I think about when I wake up. I’m sure we’ll all come out of this process ecstatic! Good luck to everyone!
  8. Oh man, you're not alone on this. I've gone over this scenario a thousand times in my head over the past couple months. Assuming I get into the top choice school: first, I'm going to take the day off work and head to my parents' place (they live in the same city) and let them know the great news in-person. After, I'm going to compose a thank you email to all my professors and let them know the good news as well. Beyond that, I think I'm just going to go take it easy for the rest of the day and just bask in the pure euphoria. Just imagining that gives me a dopamine rush! Best of luck with your results! Here's to getting our acceptances!
  9. Thanks, looks like last year the visit days were a bit earlier (March 2, 3, 4 2017). So I’m guessing that we might be getting the results a bit later this year as a result.
  10. From the results records of last year, there seems to be two waves of acceptances, though the second admittedly is significantly smaller. So I’d definitely hold off until the end of Feb. But here’s to getting our acceptances earlier!
  11. Yeah, no kidding. Seeing all these interview posts on the results page is stressing me out. But hearing that the majority of acceptances don’t interview is giving me some peace of mind, but I really wish I knew more about the process.
  12. I applied to CSAIL essentially. How about you? Hopefully we hear back in early Feb! Not sure if I can handle waiting until March, haha.
  13. It appears that the previous years’ calendars had an entry for a “graduate round-up” committee that kind of indicated when results would be released (see: linked post) I can’t find a corresponding entry in the MIT EECS calendars for 2018. Do you guys know if such an entry exists elsewhere? Or where we can get an equivalent indication of when results would be released?
  14. I’m seeing a few interview updates on GradCafe’s results search. Does anyone know if MIT EECS does mandatory interviews, or is it on a case by case basis? I’m getting really nervous since I’ve not heard back yet.
