Can anyone compare the NCSU vs. UNC Statistic Phd? I want to stay in academia after finishing, and it seems like NCSU has a low placement for academia. But I've heard NCSU has a stronger program... Any insights?

UNC Stats is the last program I'm waiting to hear back from, and they say they send offers up until first week of April. Kind of frustrating since my decision is based on that, haha.

Is anyone here still waiting for UNC Stats PhD? They had two acceptances early January but that doesn't seem proportional for mid February...

Good point. Maybe I'm confounding "quality" with "selectivity". Like, Cornell tends to have a lower acceptance rate than NCSU, but NCSU is much higher ranked than Cornell, which is much smaller.

What do you guys consider top ten/twenty? I've seen US News ranking but I don't really trust it. Seems biased towards larger programs.

It's only 3:30 EST, don't count other schools out just yet.

Cornell phd is killing me, no notifications released either way.

@lilchow I'm still waiting for UNC too. There have only been a couple from them, hopefully should see something soon. I'm just waiting for them and Cornell at this point.

I got an acceptance from them last week, so looks like they're rolling them out, not batch.

Just looking at gradcafe, it looks like there's only one round of acceptances, but you can't put too much faith in that. Don't call it just yet, especially since you had an interview.
