Thank you. I had mailed DGS last week and he replied me this morning telling me that I had not made it.As far as the MA is concerned, I had categorically asked NYU not to consider me for MA. So, I would never expect to hear anything about MA. I love NYU's PhD program. I am sad that I did not make it. However, I do have some amazing acceptances. So that heals the pain. Good luck to you!

@clinamen @Zooks Have you guys heard anything from NYU? I became so frustated that I mailed them last week. I absolutely need a response from NYU now.

I had mailed Tufts for an update. I got wait listed too. They are sending letters by post.

Can NYU just sent me their rejection email? I know that I am out. But an official email will bring finality to it. Aargh! I am tired of waiting for THE NYU REJECTION.

I will wait till the end of February to hear a rejection from NYU. If they do not notify me, I will just mail them and ask for an update/rejection.

I am in a different concentration than yours. Mine is Lit.

What is up with NYU? I understand that their acceptances(at least for PhD) have gone out. Any thoughts on NYU waitlist?

It is 2:31 am in my place. I cannot sleep because NYU is sending out acceptances.

I am not sure how much info we can get, especially considering that those who have been accepted to NYU are not very active here.

I am also keen on hearing more details(on funding, etc) from people who made it to NYU. Although they seem to have send out unofficial acceptances on phone, I think that one of the GCers who was accepted last week said that they would be receiving their formal offer letters today.

The rejection has been posted by my sister who saw acceptances and has immediately come to the conclusion that she has been rejected.

In the last couple of years, Pitt has notified international applicants via email as well as postal email. Not sure, what they are planning his time.

I am also puzzled about NYU. I will wait this week before calling it a rejection.

Will he happy to join this team because there is an extremely high chance that I will land up at Pitt.

You got through such amazing places. I understand that rejections are never easy but let it pass.

I think that we need a NYU rejected support group now.

This is precisely what I have been thinking. May be, NYU has not even seen my entire appplication based on my GRE scores ( which are okay, but not great). However, I have seen applicants getting through with lower GRE scores than stated on the program websites. I do think that ultimately factors such as SOP, writing sample and lors matter the most, but considering the number of applicants that these schools receive, it is possible that they do not even take a look at most applications

I have pretty much given up hope on NYU. From what I have seen in the previous years, they typically notify wait listed applicants a day or two after they send out formal offer letters through email. I am quite surprised that NYU chose to notify accepted candidates unofficially via phone and that too on a weekend, something that they have not really done in the previous years. It is okay. I still love NYU. Unfortunately, it is not reciprocated.
