Just so you all know I am watching this topic closely. As for the previously promised graph of how the forum usage looks, here's the past 4 admit seasons.
The graph starts at 10/1/2007 and ends yesterday, 4/21/2011. Healthy growth: in the week of Oct 1 2007 we had 107 visitors. Last week we had 115,107 visitors.
Here's the same thing with page views instead of visitors. From a mere 240k pageviews in Feb/Mar 2007 to almost 1M this time around.

Hi All,
Just a quick note to say that yesterday the forum reached a milestone, you guys have made over 100,000 posts! Congrats (?) to Nelly Ofori for making the actual 100,000th post.
Secondly, I had always wondered why the jobs forum wasn't getting any use, and it wasn't until I saw someones status update today that I realised why --- nobody could reply! This is now fixed.
Good luck to you all with your admissions.

It's a sad picture, you don't want to see it. I'll make a plot later and attach it.
That said, as the forum gets more and more users, I'm hoping some of you guys will stick around after getting in (as time permits) and eventually there'll be a critical mass of users.
