Hey Shelley, On my interviews, they ask me about my SLP experiences, interests in the field and why I felt I was a good fit for their program (they really wanted to make sure that I knew about their program). Hey FutureSLP, A lot of my friends are older than me and are current SLP grad students and they told me that end of march sounds about right for when they heard from their prospective grad schools last year, so I'm not really sure if these schools are delayed. Lazy? Yes.

It makes me mad, because when I was applying, the admissions counselor told me that applying "very early" will mean I will hear earlier. She obviously didn't know what she was talking about because when I spoke to the actual department the other day, they told me that they do not look at ANY applications until the deadline has been reached. Which means my application has been collecting dust for at least 4 months and counting...

I've decided if people have already gotten rejected from your school and you haven't... then no news is good news

What really bothers me is that my application for one of the schools was due February 15th- I handed it in October 5th! I called them last week to ask for an update of my status, the admissions people (in the general office) were shocked to see a decision wasn't made because my application was there for so long. So they forwarded my call to the actual department. The department said they haven't even LOOKED at it yet!

Hi, I would give them just a few more days so you don't seem too eager. You want to look determined, but you don't want to accidentally annoy the wrong person. I would definitely e-mail them by Friday, the 4th and kindly explain to them that you were under the impression that you were going to hear from them by the 1st, that you are very interested and that you would like to know if you are still under consideration for the interview. Hi artmuse, I would not hesitate to email your POI. I truly believe that they have not contacted you yet because (although you might not have been their "top" choice) you are still in the running! They are probably waiting to see if the people they offered acceptances to decide to attend. Either way, you definitely have every right to send a friendly/polite email inquiring about your status. Good luck & keep me posted!

I am so obsessed with checking my application status' on the University's websites, but honestly, how often do you really think these things are updated? i.e. If the committee were to look at my application today and accept/reject me, wouldn't you think they would have to process it and have it take at least overnight for it to go through the website for it show up as "Accepted/Rejected"? Even though this probably makes sense, I still check 1,000 times a day, just to make sure... *Paranoia*

Hi Gretel, I had my CW Post interview three weeks ago, it was very easy going and the Clinic Director was very nice. She asked me about my experiences in the field and my interests, etc. I can tell you though, the Brooklyn Campus does not require an interview, they are two totally different programs/schools all together (I applied to both CW Post AND LIU-Brooklyn since they are two different schools).

starlite, Yes I did get in. I found out on April 3, 2010. They called me for my interview this exact time last year and I had my interview early March. Good luck!

Well, I guess April really is definitely it! (Considering it is March 31st and I've still heard NOTHING!)
