  1. I'm visiting this week on the 1st-3rd, I didn't realize there were multiple visit times
  2. I'm really sorry, I know that was your dream school. It is elitist, I felt just as shitty when I got the Princeton reject. I'm sure where you got in is a great fit. I promise you, in a few days it won't sting at all. At least it's over and you can start making some exciting new plans!
  3. They haven't said anything to me about other applications if that's what you mean. I know you're really anxious to hear back, but there's not much you can do. You may still be in the running, you may not, you gotta just give it some time. I'm betting you'll know in the next two weeks. At this point, I personally have assumed that if I haven't heard back from a place that I'm either rejected or wait listed.
  4. Update, wait listed at Arizona, accepted at Penn State, Boulder, and Temple. I turned down Temple since they haven't offered funding. How does the wait list work? If I accept at another school, then hear back after April 15th that I got accepted after all, is there a penalty or some sort of consequence for rescinding a previous acceptance? (I.E. if I accept at Boulder, then get off the wait list at Arizona after the 15th and accept there instead, is there any consequence for turning down Boulder after the fact?) I know it's a dumb question, but humor me.
  5. @pinoysoc I know, UPenn is sooooooo quiet, I'm so anxious to hear from them. Looks like Princeton acceptances are happening, I'm guessing I should prepare for the worst since I haven't heard anything. Also, be sure to check your spam folders everyone, my Davis letter was in there (rejected on the basis of poor fit/not enough faculty to support my specialization).
  6. Hey everyone, I've been lurking for weeks and decided to join in. So far, I've gotten into Penn State, Boulder, and Temple. I've been rejected from Brown and UMN Twin Cities. I've interviewed at Irvine. I'm mainly waiting to hear back from UPenn, Princeton, and UCLA, but I also applied to Arizona, Amherst and Davis and have yet to hear anything. This process is ridiculous. I'm trying to decide between Penn State and Boulder right now, I know the former is a better ranked program but living there sounds like a nightmare. They are courting me pretty hard though, the grad director has called me a few times and she's offered to send my partner's resume around, plus they have sent me all this info about housing and grad life. I haven't talked to anyone at Boulder, just the acceptance and invitation to the recruitment weekend. Anyways, good luck to everyone, I hope you are able to find happiness at the end of all of this.
