  3. @huxlb thanks! Do you know anything about passing at the masters level? At the very least I'd like to be able to leave with a masters..
  4. Does anyone have any opinions about the statistics program at Virginia Tech? I'm worried about the seemingly low passing rate on the qualifying exam at the PhD level. Is it a weed out program? Is it a program that has secured funding? Any thoughts on the program would be helpful!
  5. @Bayesian1701 Did Virginia Tech offer any reasoning as to why most people fail, or give you any more information about quals? I'm considering their program but I don't want to go if almost everyone fails.

  7. @Bayesian1701 I was in a similar situation with Baylor. I'd recommend emailing them and letting them know that you're still interested and ask them about the timeline. I did so and they gave me their decision relatively quickly!
