  1. wow 18/hour is so much do you mind sharing which website/company you're planning on teaching through?
  2. I'm just wondering if anyone who's currently in grad school can tell me if it's unreasonable for me to assume I'll be able to handle school and a part time job? If anyone has any suggestions or even plans about what you're planning on doing as you go to grad school I'd love to hear about it lol. I'm starting to get really nervous about how I'm going to afford everything.
  3. I graduated with a 3.29 cumulative gpa & only slightly above average GRE scores and have gotten into 4/8 of the schools i applied to (I'm still waiting to hear back from 3 but I'm expecting at least 2 no's). Write a strong personal statement and get strong LORs. Also, get as much experience as you can (I did a practicum and 2 internships and I'm pretty sure that's what got me accepted). Edfind is really helpful in finding programs that have higher acceptance rates & accept people with stats like yours.
  4. Thank you all for your responses! They make me feel a bit better and more prepared Wish me luck as I have back to back interviews 3 days in a row next week!
  5. This week a couple of the schools I applied to for their graduate programs contacted me to set up interviews. I've only ever interviewed for jobs, not to be admitted into schools, so I'm not really sure what to expect and am really nervous. I know every school will do it differently, but what should I expect? Also, what kind of questions do they typically ask? I'm really bad with interviews in general and am really stressing out so anything helps!
  6. I just finished applying to grad programs and the only prereq. course I need to complete is aural rehab. My school doesn't offer it, and I'm not really sure where I can take it. It needs to be online and the cheaper the better (I'm a TX resident if that helps). Where did you guys take it? How did you find schools that offer it online?
  7. My overall gpa is a 3.29 (would that round up to a 3.3 or down to a 3.2? Or just 3.29?), last 60 hour gpa is a 3.52, and my major/SLP gpa is a 4.0. My GRE score is 153V159Q4W. Additionally, I did an internship for one semester a year ago and am currently in a practicum. I'm applying to 12 schools because I'm so nervous. I can't tell if I'm overreacting or not, but I feel like everyone has amazing stats.
  8. This semester has been really crazy for me for personal reasons and I'm only just now starting applications. I'm stressing out a lot about it, but am I overreacting? I know it's best to apply ASAP but I'm not sure how much effect it'll actually have.
  9. Thanks all for your replies! They've helped reassure me a lot since it seems like everyone has very high gpas
  10. I'm wanting to apply to masters programs this year, but I'm scared that I won't get in anywhere because of my low grades. My cumulative will be 3.3 (last 60 hour is about the same, maybe .05 higher) when I apply. However, my major gpa (SLP) is 4.0 (is that going to help me at all?). I'm volunteering at 2 different settings and shadowing in a school setting. I've been trying to get in on research, but can't find anything so far. I think after the spring I'll have better luck. Additionally, I think I can score at least, if not higher than average on the GRE. I know gpa isn't everything, but I feel like it's the biggest component for most schools so I'm really stressing out about that. Do I have a chance? Especially if I'm planning on applying to at least 10 schools (most people i've talked to aren't applying to that many)? Has anyone gotten in with a similar gpa? If so, where? Is there anything else I can do to boost my chances? I can't really afford to do post bacc because I'm almost at my limit for paying in state tuition.
