  1. @nycpolicy I am now deciding between Wagner, SIPA, and Goldman (at Berkeley) after just hearing I got off the wait list. I didn’t receive money from any but could receive an in-state tuition reduction for my second year at GSPP at Berkeley. Between SIPA and Wagner I was leaning towards Wagner as they seem to have more students and faculty interested and committed to social/urban policy (specifically Education), but now I’m even more torn because of the price reduction at GSPP and the appeal of San Fran. I’m from NYC and live here now, but a two year break from the East Coast is appealing!
  2. The specific admissions member I had been corresponding with sent me an email (after me badgering them with emails about needing to hear back before April 23rd when we had to submit a decision). I ended up asking for a decision extension, though, and was granted two more weeks.
  3. Did anyone else hear back about the scholarship check back today? I didn’t receive additional funding (bummer) making the decision between NYU and SIPA even harder. Better luck to all of you!
  4. Hi all, I've narrowed down my options to MPAs at Wagner and SIPA but am now struggling to make a choice between the two. I haven't received funding from either. I'm looking to enter the world of education policy, most likely through work at an NGO in NYC post-grad. I know Wagner's MPA is ranked MUCH higher on U.S. News & World Report, which is probably a BS ranking system, but this is of course is still haunting me in light of Columbia's reputation as a more elite school for undergrad. I also know that Wagner's program has stronger placement rates in the field I'm interested in, but again, it's hard to turn down a Columbia program. ANY AND ALL THOUGHTS WELCOME!
  5. Just wondering, what does everyone’s finaid page look like today? I’m applying for MPP and still at the no financial aid counselor or documents/messages stage (I previously had one.) I’m sure it means nothing, but can’t help but compare....
  6. I think it would probably be beneficial to them, so fin aid hopefuls are not waiting on and weighing WWS and HKS only to find out days later they are getting nothing from HKS. (My understanding is that we will find out decision/aid simultaneously, at least for MPP?) No blog post today (yet). Could they be skipping the “room where it happens” post and releasing decisions today?! Better question, when will I stop trying to predict this........
  7. Seems like they never skip the name reading post (although I wish they would!)....I think Thursday it is. Maybe WWS tomorrow!
  8. Also gone. Has anyone compared this change to last year? Not that it means anything definitive... I’m still thinking Wednesday, possibly even Thursday now with the storm. Urgh.
  9. Agreed! If this is the first time they are releasing funding decisions at the same time, I can’t imagine they would substantially alter their blog post/admissions announcement sequence, and do it all earlier - but who knows. Not getting my hopes up for today (or getting in ?).
  10. Hi @apr1016 ! I’m in the same boat. While I told myself I’d almost rather a rejection than have to deal with the anxiety of the waitlist, I take that back and feel grateful to have even been put on the waitlist (with a very average quant GRE and no econ background). I’m in NYC and hoping to stay on this coast, so waiting on HKS and WWS, but would love to know the prospects for getting off the waitlist! Not sure on the funding Q.
