  1. Hey! I was accepted off the wait list at U of A on the April 24th at 6 pm. I'm pretty sure I was one of the first calls. I don't know if that helps you gauge how long they've been making calls for. I'm sorry you're having to go through this dreadful wait. I applied last year and got rejected, so definitely keep on working for it! All the best.
  2. I got a call from Vicki a few hours ago to be offered a spot at U of A! I thought they wouldn’t be contacting waitlist before April 30th but I guess that’s not the case!!! goodluck to everyone still waiting
  3. Apparently today is the the last day for Western students to accept or decline their offers. So I believe people should start hearing back by tomorrow or next week. me too! This wait is daunting
  4. What worked for me to get onto a couple of wait lists (Western and U of A) for this year since last year was working on increasing my GPA, and also my volunteer hours in an SLP related field. I didn't apply to UBC though, so I can't speak for that . goodluck!
  5. Hi, This post is for people to indicate which schools they plan to accept or decline in order for those on the wait list to get a better idea of their chances. Kindly direct your 'debate' discussions to the original Canadian SLP thread.

  7. Goodluck with Dal! Did you get an email from them? I havent heard anything at all from Dal yet...
  8. I heard nothing from Dal so far as well! And on my application page it says nothing.
  9. Has anyone gotten any rejection letters from Dal?
  10. I read earlier in the post that it took a while before everyone heard back, but yes it is entirely possible to hear back today- hopefully. this waiting game is not fun at all. Goodluck!
  11. I don't think so. If I understood correctly, the email stated we are already on the wait list. and if a spot becomes available for you they'll call you to see if you want to take it.
  12. I know it seems un-doable, but I actually took 10 courses between last year's admission cycle and the end of this fall semester and boosted my sub GPA from 3.45 to 3.71. I took five courses at Athabasca University in Alberta, and I took 4 courses throughout summer and fall semester through U of A. It definitely helped my application as this year I am wait listed at U of A and Western when last year I got rejected everywhere. I'm not going to lie, I pretty much had to put my life on hold and only work part time and spend most of my days studying to achieve all A's in the 11 courses I was taking. But it definitely paid off I hope this helps!
  13. I am wait listed at Western and U of A. I obviously don't have much room for choice, but if I (magically somehow) hear from both, then I will be taking my Western offer.
  14. Hey guys, I've created a Canadian SLP Declining Offers Thread 2019 for those of us still on the wait list. The participation of those who have been accepted and will be declining offers is much appreciated!
  15. @hopefulSLP2be7 started a thread like this last year (for American Applicants) for those “who are playing the waiting game... Please post here if you are DECLINING your acceptance OR waitlist position at a school. This will HELP people get a better idea of their situation! Thanks to everyone who participates! Congrats to all the SLPs to be!”
  16. Has anyone received a rejection or wait list from Dalhousie?
  17. Goodluck next year! It pays off to improve your application. I was in the same boat last year with 4 rejections and this year I'm waitlisted at 2/4. So it definitely pays off
  18. I hear you. Feeling very discouraged, but trying to stay hopeful as I am waitlisted at Western and U of A. Are you wait listed anywhere?
  19. Just got an email rejection from U of T but no updates on ORPAS
