  1. I understand if you don't want to do this - but have you considered waiting it out for second round? You have from now until Dec 15, 2018, to take classes, write great pieces, have people you respect go over them with you. Beginning this early, together with all that you've learned from round one, gives you a lot of strength to go forward with.
  2. Cornell, University of Southern California, University of Houston, Florida State, University of Missouri-Columbia, are some of the more distinguished PhD Creative Writing Programs. Hope that helps!
  3. I hear you, the other CUNYs with MFA programs are in Queens and Brooklyn - you may not see yourself there. Hunter also has an amazing faculty. Incidentally, the person who reported having applied to 17 programs was declined at every one! That is one enormous price tag in application fees for something they were evidently not ready for. All the best!
  4. Congrats everyone, I also got in and accepted the offer. I did see a poster very recently who said they were declining their offer with 20K funding, perhaps there is some wiggle room for you to negotiate. Hope to see you in the fall!
  5. I'm curious to know, why did you only apply to one program? I applied to relatively few, 4 programs (I've seen posters who report having applied to as many as 17) because I only applied to the schools I knew I would seriously go to. But applying to one is considerably risky!
