  1. I've created a Google Sheet to track relevant awards information, if anyone wants to add their information. (All identifying information is optional, obviously) LINK: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1t69LNyYhZv9jj6I8dPrt7m-9VZVluqRPyMtGwraNOF8/edit?usp=sharing From the answers I've gotten from SSHRC in the past, it seems that waitlist placement is dependant on committee (as are the scores that it takes to be awarded either a CGS-D or a SSHRC Doctoral Award). DISCLAIMER: I have not received my letter this year, so I don't actually know where I stand right now, other than that my application was forwarded to Ottawa in January.

  3. I was waitlisted last year as well. This whole time period is so nerve-wracking because anything can really happen. I was so close (ended up within the top 10 on the waitlist - I checked the status of my application at the end of 2018), but who knows? Maybe I won't even get waitlisted this year... stay strong everyone!
  4. It sounds like they may be making typos on the waitlist letters... I have been told that there's no way I have a 10.2 if my letter indicated waitlist placement. The current hypothesis is that I may have a 12.0 but the numbers got flipped somehow. Should I be getting my hopes up here? Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know if the results letters are generated automatically, or if it's even possible that this was just human error?
  5. I live in North York, and I received my letter this morning. Indicated waitlist placement, with a score of 10.2 in Committee 5 (I think... the code I indicated on the application was 7525, but I submitted my SSHRC application to my department so long ago that I honestly do not remember anymore).
  6. In any given year, do we know what percentage of people on the SSHRC Doctoral Awards waitlist generally end up getting funded? Does anyone have any idea what the lowest score on the waitlist was this year, or in past years?
  7. Does SSHRC indicate waitlist placement on the snail mail notification of competition results, or is that something that I would need to email and request? If so, to what email address should that inquiry be directed? Additionally, does any one know at what point SSHRC will officially release the names of recipients? Thanks!
