I can assure you that you won’t see your results in the email. Once you are in the portal, before you click the link to the official letter, if you see there’s a link beside the link to the official letter stating “respond to enrollment...” it means you are admitted; if not, then the decision is going to be either a rejection or a waitlist.

Each applicant will receive an email from the director of admissions.  In the subject line it will say, "Your HGSE Application".  The email will tell you that, "Your HGSE admissions decision is now available."  You can also access your decision at any time by logging in to your Applicant Status Page.  I hope this helps.

  2. Deep breath in and deep exhale out through the mouth.....deep breath in and deep exhale out.   You all are awesome for applying to any graduate program.  You should be proud of yourself because you have the courage to go after your goals and your dreams.  Take a deep breath and be patient.  Everything is going to be alright.  You are going to be alright.  You all are wonderful just the way you are.  I am speaking the truth.

  3. HGSE admissions does look at all applications with a holistic view.  I have known applicants who have been accepted at HGSE with low GPA's and not so great GRE scores and have been successful at HGSE.  One applicant I know had a really low GPA (a GPA where graduate admissions at any of the University of California campuses would bypass their application...one needs an undergraduate 3.0 GPA to even apply for graduate admissions at the UC's), but this applicant had good letters of recommendation and a solid work experience and was able to articulate themselves in their statement of purpose.  This applicant I knew applied to UCLA's graduate education program and got rejected.  Then, this applicant got accepted at HGSE and thought they would have never been accepted at Harvard.  Things happen for a reason.  Don't give up hope.

  4. @xyzxyz123 you are right, the commitment date is usually by April 15.  That is also the date to send in the commitment deposit.  Admissions decisions have to be sent out in a timely manner so that admitted students can make a decision of whether or not to attend.  If the admitted student decides to attend HGSE, the student can send their deposit and secure their place in the upcoming class.  I hope all applicants to HGSE receive a notice of admission by this coming Friday.
