You might want to look at NYU...Carolyn dinshaw is a faculty member whose interests are aligned with yours.

I’m on the waitlist for UMD! Please reject your offer if you plan to attend elsewhere!!

How are people doing? anyone else already thinking about how to improve their apps for next time? (haven't received the final rejection yet but I dont think its going anywhere)
Yes! Definitely thinking about next time...thankfully I got into a funded MA program, but I’m seriously reconsidering whether I should apply to WGSS programs next time. Perhaps a traditional discipline might be a better choice in terms of getting accepted, funding, and placement.

Has anyone heard back from Indiana University Bloomington’s Gender Studies program?? I saw someone on here got an offer in early Feb but I haven’t seen anything from anyone else and I haven’t heard from the program at all. Good luck, all!
I know one person who was accepted. They had their visiting weekend last week.

Has anyone who received the invite for the Yale webinar last week received an update notification regarding their application status yet stating whether they were rejected or acceptanced at this point? I’m just curious since I see some people who didn’t mention the invite have already already posted their results.
I’m confused...I don’t see any results posted for yale amst this year yet?

Has anyone heard anything from UC Davis cultural studies?

Rejected! I must say, I'm really disappointed in how UMN handled this. From what I gather, they have known certain rejections for weeks. I know of two people who were interviewed and then rejected not long after. I don't understand how hard it is to keep applicants in the loop - especially when we pay a fee for the luxury of applying in the first place. Don't think I'll be applying here next year - I can understand the rejection itself and, although I'm disappointed, I'm not mad at them for that. I just feel the handling of the process was disrespectful ??♂️
wow! I didn't even realize that they did interviews...

@okcool96 @stressedandconfused I was able to log into my application portal, hit the "continue" button to the left of "Application for Admission," and saw there was an update posted to my account, which was a very short rejection letter. Best of luck to y'all!
rejected as well!

Arg, really?! I had no idea that they were just about done with their decision making. I was hoping that no news was good news, but maybe not haha
Yikes! I just logged into my UMN portal and it says my admission is "decided" but their decision isn't posted yet. We'll probably hear back really soon.

Still waiting on a few GS programs. Waiting is tough.
Anyone happen to know the admissions stats for The University of Minnesota?
What about UCSC? I wonder if all of their interviewees have heard back yet...
My friend got into Santa Cruz 2 weeks ago ?

I think UMN have already made their decisions and are just waiting to send rejections - not entirely sure though.
Yeah. That’s what I was thinking based on the previous years. Who knows. My POI at UMN shared that admission is really competitive this year especially.

Congrats! Were you notified today via email about the waitlist? Does it seem like they've notified other people about acceptances and waitlists?
From what I can tell, they sent out an acceptance yesterday via email, and I got an email from the graduate director for the waitlist decision!

Ugh someone just posted their admission to UMD college park
Edit: I just got waitlisted!!

Same about expecting a rejection from Rutgers. I think I was a little over optimistic about getting into a PhD program straight out of undergrad. I will be grateful if I get into an MA program.
I definitely feel this. Most of my peers who applied (outside of WGSS) have already heard back and been admitted to PhD programs.

Ah okay. Well that sucks. But thanks for letting me know.
Yup! I’m feeling pretty down about it as well.

Yeah, its very odd. I dont know. I am just gonna go straight into denial and pretend maybe there's still a shot or not everyone's been contacted. Someone also posted right before that (who I assume is the same person) about getting an interview from UC Santa Cruz Feminist Studies, which I didn't think did interviews, so its all a bit odd.
Actually, one of my friends (who refuses to use gradcafe) got accepted to Santa Cruz last week. It’s their first year doing interviews.

I also applied to Davis. The program looks so good!
Just saw someone got waitlisted at UNC, which I guess means I'm out. Weird, since I called earlier this week and they said the committee didn't make decisions until the 18th.
Yikes. Sorry about UNC. Hopefully we'll both get into Davis! Although this program is notoriously difficult to get admitted to (and with subpar funding)

Wow there’s so many ppl yay. I’m waiting to hear back from UMD College park, Minnesota, Yale, and UC Davis (cultural studies)

Hi!! I’ve been waiting for an Amst thread to show up but it’s been completely silent this year ? Is anyone applying?? I’m anxiously waiting to hear back from 3 programs.
