  1. Just got accepted to GSPIA!! Stats: I have an A- cumulative GPA and an A final year GPA. Have worked for the provincial government twice during my summers, studied abroad in France in my third year, and a lot of volunteer experience throughout my undergrad. Best of luck to everyone still waiting from GSPIA!
  2. To be honest their application process this year seems pretty disorganized. They added the video component and then they later said that the video component is supplimentary due to some error. Now they are re-opening applications. Still hoping for the best Edit: just clicked the link and it appears that the application for the MPP program is still open not the MGA ?
  3. Hey. I was waitlisted from Munk last year and my stats are somewhat similar to yours. When I reapplied this year I made sure to modify my statement of intent and I sought out 2 professors that I took classes with who knew me really well, and would write me stronger reference letters than the year before. During my year off I've made some effort to boost my professional experience, so I'm hoping some of the initiative and changes I've made to my letter of intent/resume will provide me with some luck this year. When I applied again I asked Munk for some feedback from my last application, and they told me my GPA and statement of intent was good and well written but they had too many people on the waitlist. I'm assuming the application season for Munk is somewhat like a mixed bag - and the amount of people they waitlist and the amount of applications they receive vary from year to year. Although I applied to other schools Munk is still my top choice. Best of luck to everyone!
  4. Mine is still preliminary review required. I just want the wait and nerves to be over with I'm pretty sure most acceptances for schools will be going out within the next 3 weeks
  5. I'm waiting on SIDGS at Ottawa, Munk npsia and GSPIA. I'm beginning to get nervous
  6. I know a couple of people that went abroad to do their masters - particularly in the UK and I was looking into doing something similar but the costs were way too high. But all power to the people that have the money to do so, it would be an incredible opportunity
  7. I applied to GSPIA, NPSIA, Munk and an additional program at Ottawa and I too want the wait to all be over but it's just part of the process I guess. Good luck!
  8. Ah, that makes a lot more sense. Good luck to everyone submitting their final statements for NPSIA and GSPIA tonight!
  9. Hey, does someone mind clarifying what GSPIA means by this for our statement of intents: "A sentence to identify your field of concentration (in the domains of international affairs, public policy, international development as well as in conflict studies and human rights); as an indication of your research interest (this will not restrain you in the choice of your courses, and your interests may also change during your program, the question is for informational purposes only)" Are there field of concentration on the website?
  10. Not sure if this is important to post but my status has moved to 'under review' for Munk
  11. For those applying to Ottawa, how long are your letters of intent? It doesn't clearly state it on the website.
  12. That's what I was thinking as well because I could have sworn I looked at the MGA website in October and the video component wasn't there. I'll be doing mine tomorrow. Ahh
  13. Wow that's a bit terrifying. I guess they are really adding this component to stream people out. I wonder how heavily it weighs compared to other aspects of the application
  14. I've been procrastinating on that as well. I don't know what questions they'll ask? Like will it be a specific global affairs issue that's happening now?
  15. Isn't NPSIA due on January 31? And I'm also applying for SIDGS at Ottawa which is due on the 15 which is why I was so worried! Ateast for GSPIA I have time lol
  16. I ended up getting the email this afternoon. Check your spam folder because that's where mine was
  17. It's awful. I don't get why they make their application process so difficult. I'm especially concerned because one of the programs I'm applying to at Ottawa's deadline is on the 15th, and I want to make sure my references have time to upload their letters. U of T and Carleton's was so painless! lol, I called them this morning and was told it can take up to a week or 10 days to receive the email.
