  1. I just checked my email and it went into my junk folder, so I wouldn't have caught this if it wasn't for you, thank you!
  2. has anyone with MGA heard any updates from kevin/the program? i haven't received any emails yet, just wondering if anyone else has?
  3. have you accepted your offer for munk already? i need to decide on monday and i am really leaning towards munk but i'm still trying to justify that $$$$ tuition LOL.
  4. my offer for npsia expires on monday and i know for a lot of my friends who got an extension, their offer expires on the same day. i think second round offers have already gone out so you may possibly be waitlisted (idk) but anyway, you should probably hear back next week, as more people make their final decisions on monday on which offers to accept and spots open up!
  5. im in the same boat right now where I'm choosing between a fully funded degree at NPSIA vs the MGA at Munk with absolutely $0 in funding. for those who have already chosen Munk/are most likely going to go with Munk, would you mind sharing some of the factors that made you choose Munk?
  6. For my NPSIA funding package, it says on Carleton Central that they are for 2019 - 2020 and I am just wondering if anyone knows if that amount is for over the two years as a whole, or if they will be recalculating the funding for 2020/2021? Edit: Never mind, I just re-read my letter and realized all the information was online lol
  7. has everyone's application status for NPISA moved to "recommended for assessment"? mine is still at "preliminary review required" so I'm a little worried!
  8. i emailed the graduate information coordinate (for Carleton generally, not NPSIA) and she said that even though processing times may take a bit to show up, they are able to see what time that referees submitted the form. so hopefully, even though the "received" date shows up as later than the Jan 31st deadline, it should be fine! good luck to everyone!
  9. for NPSIA, does anyone know if references get a couple extra days to get their letters in or everything was due on the 31st? i submitted all my documents before the deadline but Carleton Central says that one of my references are still not in so I'm getting a little worried
  10. i don't think you need to be an economics major, i know if you haven't fulfilled the basic economics requirement, you can still receive an acceptance but it will just be conditional on if you get that credit by the time the fall semester starts what streams did you guys pick for NPISA?
  11. is anyone else applying to balsillie? how long did it take for your QUEST emails to come in?
  12. yes, they added the component later in! i remember looking at it and being really confused because i had previously checked the website the day before and it wasn't there. so hopefully!!! this isn't being weighed that heavily! good luck! you get around a three second warning (they do those little beeps to warn you) at the end of the 5 minute prep session before they start recording. it kind of threw me off when they started recording right away, so be mindful of that. did you submit the rest of your application documents already?
  13. i hope its not weighed heavily LOL the thing is that the video component is not included in the SGS document submission checklist so i am wondering if they added this to stream out people who haven't read the application instructions? or maybe this is just me thinking wishfully because i do not think i will do well on this part LOL. i just completed mine and the question was not difficult but it was just very nerve wracking to do!
  14. have you done the practice questions yet? all the questions were in such unrelated areas of international affairs, i have no idea how to prepare for this
  15. for those who are applying to munk, did you guys identify a research area in the "proposed area of study" section of the online application or just one of the three streams of the program?
  16. I am also applying to Munk and NPSIA, as well as the global governance program at BSIA. My top choices are between Munk and BSIA right now. I'm still currently working on my statements so I am kind of kicking myself in the butt for not starting earlier LOL. If you don't mind me asking, did you submit your video question portion of the Munk application yet? I was surprised when they added it onto the application requirements this year and am a little bit nervous since there doesn't seem to be much you can do to prepare!
  17. hello! thanks for starting this thread, i couldn't find many others on international/global affairs programs for 2019. how far into your application process are you? i have contacted and secured my referees but due to a crazy fall semester, i am only now starting my personal statement, so i am a little concerned that i am behind! are you applying to any other schools?
  18. hi there! i currently go to carleton and what i have heard is that generally NPSIA weighs experience very heavily so i would say don't lose hope just because you don't have a perfect GPA. i think the fact that you intern for an international research group and are involved in IR extracurriculars are def beneficial, especially if u were able to raise your gpa a bit over this past semester. you meet the minimum grade requirements so i would say as long as you have a strong statement, your application stands a chance so don't give up yet!
  19. hey guys, i can't seem to find any other threads on this topic, but just wondering how everyone else's applications are going? what schools are you applying to?
