  1. Hope you get the good news soon! It must be nerve-wrecking being that close to the actual place where decisions are made/sent. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!! Hope to see you on visit day!
  2. Thank you!! Yes, CP. I think the admin person is sending out the emails individually, so maybe yours will arrive shortly!! No update on the website. It still says "submitted". I'm very surprised I got in though. I struggled to write the "fit" paragraphs in my personal statement, and their application was due earlier than the other schools. There must have been a million typos in the statement.
  3. so ready to be done with the process! best of luck to you and to everyone who applied to columbia/harvard/yale!
  4. claiming a Columbia acceptance! no details on funding though.
  5. Only Columbia is late right. Yale last year was around this time too.
  6. For comparative, NYU is definitely top 10 and has been placing students very well in the past few years. Not so sure about Northwestern or UNC-Chapel Hill. I think they're stronger in American?
  7. From the other threads it looks like UCLA and OSU both admit people without funding (or waitlist them for funding).
  8. Is your tuition waived? If not, then definitely don't do it. Do you have offers from other schools with funding? If so, perhaps you should seriously consider those as well or mention that to UCLA.
  9. Looking at phdstipends.com... Princeton's stipend is 36k and Duke's is 37k? Wow
  10. Got an email from a POI at Penn. I was told decisions would be released "very soon."
  11. Thank you! Just got another one as we speak -- will just ignore and move on haha.
  12. Question! I got an email from a program that I'm accepted to. It's from a professor (whom I didn't name in my statement). The content of the email is boilerplate ("please feel free to ask any questions") but it does have my name on it. If I don't have any questions that I'm comfortable asking over email, should I ignore the email and move on? I feel it's kinda rude but it would also be rude to say "no questions" right?
  13. Is this Harvard PEG? Don't think Harvard government is out?
  14. I would assume all acceptances are out at this point. Their reply date for the visiting day is fast approaching. It'd be odd to send out acceptances now.
  15. I found reading academic papers helpful. They help me formulate research ideas and remind me of why I wanted to do this in the first place. Took a lot of stress off my shoulders in the past few weeks. Best of luck!
  16. Don't think they did. Good luck!! I've heard mixed things about the department as a whole though... Would love to get more thoughts on where Yale stands among the CHYMPS schools.
  17. Thanks so much! I found a bus that goes from downtown LA to La Jolla as well (for 9.99). Getting around the U.S. with public transportation is always so fun (ugh).
  18. Is anyone planning on going to the UCLA and UCSD visiting days? They are only a few days apart from each other, and I was thinking of doing both. Transportation wise it seems like the only viable option to go from UCLA to UCSD is Facebook ride share? Would love to get more advice on this or go with a fellow political science student!
  19. The DGS is comparative, so maybe theory admits are still coming?
  20. hmm there's an acceptance on the results page but I haven't heard from the Yale grad students I know that they are making offers (no idea when that would be)
  21. Are you American or Comparative? Which is better probably depends on your region of interest too.
  22. claim a ucla comparative acceptance (seems like comparative acceptances are coming separately)
  23. I see the acronym "APT" a lot -- what's APT? (non-theorist here)
  24. digging your username! (and I totally read "sitting in the middle of a snow ATM" lol)
  25. Any comparative acceptances from UCLA?
