Thanks for the suggestion! I agree with the OP though. It's hard to imagine that a professor would say something over email that he or the department is not making available online.

I have a question about contacting faculty at a school where you are waitlisted. I'm waitlisted at a school (School A) that's comparable in fit with the schools I'm accepted at. There's definitely a chance that I will go to School A if accepted. In that case, is it appropriate for me to contact the faculty at School A or even visit?

That's crazy. But at least they don't drag things out like Northwestern. I didn't apply to Northwestern but I absolutely hate how this school handles admissions.

UCSD comparative. Very excited. For those who don't have an acceptance yet -- don't lose hope. You only need one.

Didn't apply to many of the schools mentioned above, but sigh why can't they release decisions all at once.

Do you have a guess for why rejections haven't been sent out yet? Wisconsin-Madison and Princeton both seem to notify rejections a week or more after acceptances. And it's not like they were still deliberating after the first wave of acceptances were sent out.

I would assume so. Last year they sent out acceptances too and rejection letters a week later.
