  1. Hahaha no problem! I also agree that it's nice to find people going through the same thing. It has helped relieve my stress! I had a friend call and ask about when decisions are coming out and they said between now and mid-February. Professors will reach out themselves first and that should start happening late this week or early next week, but could continue until mid-Feb depending on the professor.
  2. Yeah. I've kinda accepted that I'm not in, but who knows until that official rejection letter arrives. Was it Al Brady that you met with? I've thought about emailing him to check in...
  3. I applied to Vanderbilt, University of Minnesota, UT Austin, and Harvard. I'm in with funding at Minnesota and Austin, didn't get an interview at Harvard and also haven't heard from Vandy. The waiting game is hard! I thought Vandy would have emailed either way last week, but maybe it'll be this week? It seems like admission in previous years came in end of Jan and rejection came in start of Feb. No one has posted on the results page yet though, so I'm holding out hope. Why did you choose only Vandy? Did you reach out to any professors?
  4. I agree.Harvard said in a webinar that if you don't get an interview you basically won't get in. Why don't they send the rejection letters (or waitlist a few people if you are concerned about your numbers) earlier? I just don't understand!
  5. Ok. I think I am officially taking Harvard out of the running. Only one more school to hear back from before making a decision on where to go.
  6. I applied to EPPE and haven't heard anything, but it's nice that you heard back from your POI. I emailed mine at Harvard and never heard anything. It's one of the reasons that Harvard is not as high on my list as it could be. I emailed 4 schools (and applied to 4 schools) and Harvard is the only one where I never heard back from a professor. It really stood out to me. I applied anyway because the interdisciplinary aspect is intriguing to me. If I hear something today great, if not I'll move on.
  7. Looking back at old topics it looks like they go out over a few days. I would say if we haven't heard by Saturday morning, we probably didn't get an interview. It's nice to know that it's started at least. I can now check my email 1,000,000x a day legitimately instead of in anxiety. Which program did you apply for?
  8. right?! That's where I am as well. At least let me know either way. I'm not optimistic that I'll get an interview but I just want to know.
  9. The calm from my last post has disappeared. Has anyone heard anything? Anyone anxiously awaiting an interview email like I am?
  10. I agree. It'll be hard to stop checking, but everything for me has come in when I was least expecting it. so I'm just going to try and take my mind off of it. There is nothing I can do now that will change the outcome.
  11. This is great advice! @2019CulturePhD I'm in a different department at the U of M so my experience may be different. I heard from the department before I got my official letter from the school. The letter from the department invited me to the Grad Student Research Day (March 1st this year) and mentioned that I have until April 15th to decide. The letter also stated who my adviser would be and to reach out to them to talk about funding. I then emailed the professor and we have been trading emails back and forth to talk about funding and have a phone call set up. Do you know who your advisor is? I would reach out to them or if you don't know to the department admin to check.
  12. Where are you waiting to hear from? I'm waiting on Vandy and Harvard, but as I said. I don't expect to get in to either.
  13. Just heard back from UT Austin. Got an email from the POI that he wanted to talk, then got an email that I was accepted. Two more I am waiting to hear from, but I don't expect to get into either of those as my research interests don't match as well.
  14. YES! I did too and I see people on the results page in other programs who got it as well. I have no idea what it means. I came here to ask the same question.
  15. The interview time period is the 22nd through the 25th of January this year. So I would guess sometime next week?
  16. Just wanted to let people know that I heard back from my first school, the University of Minnesota. I was accepted to their PhD program! I'm still waiting to hear back from UT Austin, Harvard, and Vanderbilt. Anyone have updates from any of these schools? Just thought I would add UM was Special Ed through the Ed. Psych Department and UT Austin and Vandy are also SPED and Harvard is a PhD with a concentration in EPPE.
  17. Anyone else applying for a PhD in Special Education for Fall 2019? I've submitted 4 applications (Vanderbilt, Harvard, University of Texas at Austin, and University of Minnesota) and might do one more (George Mason) as that app isn't due until Jan 15th. I just heard back from the University of Minnesota, but am still waiting on any sign from the other institutions. Anyone else in the same boat?
