I didn't indicate TMG/FI in my application but emailed the PIs anyway. TMG admin replied to me saying they are still reviewing applications, after which will send out interviews to selected candidates later. FI did not reply. But I did get some visits to my portfolio, whose link I included in my email. So I feel like if they were impressed it shouldn't have taken this long...

I got a brief visit on 5th Feb. But since I applied for both eecs and media lab I don't know which one did the visit. I applied for Responsive Environment, City Science, and Biomechatronics. Anyone got anything?

I applied to multiagent robotics. but my interview was not from a POI. But I really liked the research work of my interviewer.

My portfolio also got visit from MIT on 1st Feb, and interestingly enough, they didn't go through all my engineering stuff but looked at two pages of my artworks. So idk what they are thinking...

The Professor who interviewed me is in a pretty different field than my interest. Also I didn't indicate him in my application. As a result, I don't think I did well at all. His research is very cool tho and I really hope he could consider me for his lab. GPA: 3.75, GRE: V160 Q168 AW5.5 Two 3-month internships at two top robotics companies. One 7-month internship at a robotics cloud computing startup. Two years of undergrad research experience, but no pub. Three very strong letters (two from PIs, one from CEO). Was project lead for a UAV project team for three years. Got $10000 award from IARPA challenge (in biometrics) b4.

I had my interview on 24th (robotics), and was told that results should be finalized and even posted on 28th. Which is somewhat consistent with one of the posts.

It's a myth whether we should contact POIs. Honestly I have heard of cases where none of the POIs even replied and the guy got into the programs. There are also cases where the POI's reply sounds promising but the guy didnt get in

I didn't even add google analytics to my site cauz I think it's only gonna make me panic. Also the ones I applied to aren't really asking for a portfolio even though I have one myself.
