  1. Yes I’m waitlisted as well and the waiting is very difficult. Especially because I have no idea where I went wrong in my application. It’s pretty discouraging when I have a completed degree, higher GPA/GRE scores, more research experience, and more relevant work/volunteer experiences than my friends who were accepted. I wish the universities gave feedback on where to improve.
  2. Thanks so much! I will definitely inquire about a waitlist. Did you have to pay a nonrefundable deposit to be put on the waitlist then?
  3. Do any non-UBC students know how to get a spot in UBC's mandatory online neuroanatomy (AUDI 402) prerequisite? This is the third semester where I've tried to register for this class, but by the time registration opens for visiting students the class is already full. It's pretty discouraging knowing that my application is now void because it's impossible for me to complete this class since it's always full. If anyone ends up dropping this class if they get accepted to a different university, could you please let me know? Thanks
  4. Last year I only applied to one school and was put on the waitlist in April. I was offered admission to the program at the end of August (after I had already given up hope and booked a 2 month trip on the other side of the world ?). Although I feel like this was a rare case and that most people would find out way sooner. This year if I'm offered a spot on the waitlist, I won't lose hope or make plans until the programs actually start.
  5. I received an interview for McMaster too! Good luck everyone!
  6. My applicant portal says pre-screening for Alberta as well. Yesterday I called asking when they will be sending out acceptance offers, and they said they haven't even started to look at applications yet. So that's probably why it still says pre-screening. They also said they will send out offers in April (which is much later than last year because people started getting offers at the end of February).
  7. I found some information about the 2018 applicant pool on the ORPAS website. For McMaster, there were 483 applicants and 32 positions (6.6% acceptance rate). For Western, there were 426 applicants and 50 positions (11.7% acceptance rate). For Toronto, there were 289 applicants and 60 positions (20.8% acceptance rate). Good luck!
  8. Does anyone know when the U of A typically starts sending out acceptances? I couldn't find it on their website and it would be nice to know an expected timeframe. Thanks!
  9. Hi everyone! I applied to McGill, McMaster, U of A, and UBC. I'm so relieved to be finished my applications and can't wait to hear back from the universities. All the hard work is about to pay off! Good luck everyone!
