  1. I just received an invitation for a Skype interview at a university I presumed was another rejection. I'm so excited, but was wondering if anyone has any helpful tips to nail this? Thank you!!
  2. No, I didn't interview. The places I've interviewed at have gotten back to me within two weeks, but I know each program is different. Maybe if you haven't heard anything by next week, reach out. I think a month is more than enough time. Best of luck to you!
  3. I didn't hear anything from Florida State, but checked the portal and my rejection letter was posted on 1/29. This is the only school who didn't even send a generic email saying to check the portal. Very disappointed in their process.
  4. Just got waitlisted as a "middle" alternate. I'm curious if there are any doc students who were in this same boat, and actually got off the waitlist? I don't even know what that means...
  5. Thanks! It sounds like they're starting to reach out, so hopefully we'll all hear something soon. Congrats and good luck!
  6. Yeah I haven't seen a single post about it. The website said students would be notified in early January, but hopefully that timeline has changed!
  7. Has anyone heard from University of Notre Dame for Clinical Psych? I emailed a few weeks ago, and was told offers would be extended through February 1st. So there's still tomorrow, but I'm losing hope...
  8. Has anyone heard from University of Minnesota for their Counseling PhD program?
  9. Thanks, this has been a very stressful process. I'm going to assume no...that way if I do hear anything, it would be a very pleasant surprise.
  10. So I've reached out to a few of my schools, and they said there's still a possibility they will reach out to more applicants after the first round of interviews. I've been told my application is still under consideration, and that they have definitely dipped back into the applicant pool in previous years. I guess I'm wondering how often this happens, what the chances are, etc. Has anyone else received the same feedback? Any current Clinical Psychology PhD students who got into programs they initially did not receive an interview for? This waiting game is awful!
  11. I'm also waiting to hear. I emailed the coordinator and was told that all first round offers will be completed by February 1st. I didn't know they were only doing Skype interviews, but there's still two weeks to hear something! Fingers crossed!!
  12. Anyone know if Northern Illinois was a mass email, or if they are sending out individual invites?
  13. Has anyone heard from Minnesota for Counseling PhD or West Virginia for Clinical PhD??
  14. I emailed the admissions coordinator on Wednesday...he said initial reviews are still being made, and he is not sure of the interview schedule yet. So hopefully we'll receive good news in the next few weeks!
  15. I'm curious as to how many of you applied to both clinical and counseling PhD programs. I've had one clinical interview so far, and I have a counseling one coming up. If you have applied/interviewed for both programs, can you share some insight on your experience? The two counseling programs I applied to have faculty conducting research that overlaps with my interests. But the majority of the programs I applied to are clinical, as I have a strong interest in trauma research.
  16. Thank you so much for the uplifting words. I'm already working two jobs, but it felt like three just trying to get the applications done. We're all so qualified, and it's tough fighting for literally a handful of spots. Good luck to you, third time's the charm! ?
  17. Yeah, I'm waiting for clinical. This is one of my top choices, so fingers crossed!
  18. I saw a few postings mid-December for the University of Southern Mississippi. Their website says interview invites are finalized by late January-early February. Hopefully they're not done. Anyone else waiting to hear from them?
  19. Has anyone heard from back from WVU's Clinical PhD program? I saw someone posted back in December about the Clinical Child concentration. Haven't seen anything for Clinical though...
  20. I applied to 19 programs, ad have been accepted to one of them. However, this is not a fully funded program, so they are able to accept a much bigger cohort. I have heard nothing from the other 18 schools. This is my second time applying with 3 years in between. The first time I applied was during my Master's program in counseling. I applied to 3 schools with only a year of research experience, and my research interests were scattered. In the last 3 years, I have completed a program with two Master's degrees, gained 3 more years of diverse research and clinical experience and published an article. I feel much more prepared now than I did then. It's definitely hard not to take this personally, as programs are highly competitive and there are so many qualified applicants. For those who've applied a few times, how did you manage to keep your confidence level up? I know there's still time to receive invites, but the self-loathing and rumination is real over here.
  21. I am waiting to hear from them as well, but haven't seen anyone post yet...
