Hi all, I've been admitted to a few Data Science MS programs and am wondering if anyone else is in the same boat. Out of the schools below, which would you choose and why? If you had multiple offers, what criteria did you use to decide? I'm currently choosing between NYU, University of San Francisco, and Berkeley MIDS. University of San Francisco is significantly cheaper than the other two (40k versus 60k+). I'm in Boston now, hence the heavy emphasis on East Coast schools. Accepted: NYU University of San Francisco Berkeley MIDS (i.e., the online program) Tufts Harvard School of Public Health (Health Data Science) Pending: Brown Columbia (presumed rejection at this point)

@thrasher88 not sure if you were able to make it to the accepted students event tonight. It looks like the cohort last year was 140. FYI.

@HarenB For me, decent GPA (A-) and GRE scores (for Data Science applicants: below average on Q, above average on V). I have a lot of quantitative research experience and publications, so I'm guessing that helped balance the other factors.

@HarenB Hi there! There are 142 in the LinkedIn group (which includes 4 admins, so ~138 prospective students)

Hi there! On the LinkedIn group for admitted students, there are FAQs and one of the responses notes that the cohort size is estimated at 150. They showed some graphs of the cohort size by year and it looks like the max of previous years was around 75-80.

I'm in the same boat. No interview. No decision. Likely rejection.

I still have a couple of programs’ decisions outstanding. NYU is definitely a top choice, though!

@thrasher88 I was also surprised at the size of the cohort. It seems like a big jump from previous years. You have some amazing choices!
