  1. Also waiting on a response from them for Epi (definitely going elsewhere, but would be nice to hear back!) I wouldn't feel bad or stress about keeping UW-Madison on hold for a little bit, it's all part of the process. We were all on hold while they were evaluating their options with us, now it's our turn Good luck and fingers crossed we hear back soon!
  2. So we're getting to the fun part, time to start mulling over decisions for the most part! What're you all thinking? What schools are you down to? What're you prioritizing in the thought process? Who knew the "fun part" would be just as stressful!
  3. This was actually a legitimate clarification that was being made due to a seemingly genuine mix-up between the two in response to one of my posts. Thank you for clarifying before I could chime in, @apex45!
  4. @tryinnaaskquestions Awesome call! I'll see if there are any students that that professor can put me in touch with, thanks for that recommendation. @ASA15 Congrats on getting an interview for that, that would be dope to have that locked down for the 2 years; good luck! That's my biggest worry now. I'm thinking that UW seems like the best fit for me, but if quarter-to-quarter funding is gonna take up a solid chunk of time, that's something to think about
  5. Did any other Epi folks receive word on UW funding? I got an email letting me know I was in line to be matched for an RA position for first quarter, should I choose to go, and the research seems right in line with my interests! I'm wondering if other folks got the impression that these matches were likely to continue on to subsequent quarters, or were a little "bait and switch" to set us up nicely for first quarter and leave us to find our own from there. Hoping for the former!
  6. I believe it's for grad! I'm actually doing my masters there now and am scheduled to volunteer in another department! Hopefully I'll be able to be there as an attendee tho
  7. No word yet, but their admitted students day is March 8, so hopefully soon! Looks like decisions from last year came out around the 3rd week of Feb, so hopefully within the next week. Best of luck!
  8. I got into UW Epi and they actively encouraged us to wait to accept, so that we have more time to hear about and find funding. I believe most US schools should be reserving your spot until ~April 15 unless otherwise stated!
  9. PAINFULLY eager to hear from Berkeley, one of my top programs! They sent an email a while back saying to expect results mid-february to early march, and it looks like last year mimicked that timeline. Fingers crossed sooner rather than later, good luck!
  10. I'm currently doing my MSPH in Community Health Sciences and applied for PhD programs in Epi; it's worked out for me so far and I'm hoping the same for you! I think it's really exciting to bring some perspectives from fields that draw more on social theories into a quantitative field, so best of luck!
  11. Hi folks! New to the forum, almost glad I didn't know this was here sooner, the stress is too real ?Rejected from Emory and accepted to UW epidemiology last week, saw a few other folks in the same boat. Still waiting on responses from 3 others. Congrats all around to those with interviews and acceptances, can't wait to see how it works out for everyone!
