    I would, and this is just my preference, not go for the visit at all and instead give up my spot such that those waitlisted might receive offers.

    Hello everyone. This thread is meant as a place to share experiences as people go and visit the programs they have been admitted to. What is good about the program? And bad? Which departments are you deciding between after the visits?

    I think programs of that kind are quite interesting. Joining one of those departments will certainly make you a political theorist with an even more narrow expertise, but if your interests are in that direction then it's a good choice for sure. Are you at Stanford for theory?

    If you are continentally oriented then Hopkins for sure, if you're analytically oriented then Brown for sure.

    I only see one NYU reject. I'm assuming that some decent POI conveyed the information upon request but that no official rejections are out yet. They'll probably all come out on the same day (first week of March last year, mid February the year before)

    Let's get this thread going! I am more analytically oriented I think and ultimately have some interests in methodology in political theory. If normative positions conflict, maybe a shift in methodological approach can alleviate that conflict. That's quite abstract but can be explored though a variety of questions, including by drawing from democratic theory.

    I started a new topic on called 'Political Theory Applications 2019', but dunno if it is useful at all to have a topic for theorists exclusively.
