  1. Sorry I disappeared to Morocco with no WiFi right after this happened haha. Since my next best offer was a full ride in a high cost of living city (LA) I went with Austin!
  2. Updating with final stipend info!
  3. second update for future reference - about 3 days before deadline I got bumped up to full ride and 43,248 stipend (!!!!). Mind absolutely blown. Didn't negotiate them at all. The waiting game worked out unintentionally I guess... So grateful
  4. Thanks! And cool- public transport is something I'm definitelyworried about. Also, the city and program being very whiteworries me too, as I didn't get a chance to visit. 31k split over two years!
  5. yeah they said full ride is the highest offer USC does, which blows. they sent me a long list of external fellowships but i'm betting they would only be helpful for year 2
  6. do most people come in with savings, or have parents help them out? I'm a first gen low income background so I'm a little freaked out with the idea of covering 45,000 estimated living expenses for two years at USC, and not sure how others do it or just whip out the loans..
  7. Hi, they offered me full tuition and 19k stipend originally. I'm not too sure why they increased as I didn't ask as it was a generous offer and it seemed tone deaf to ask for more!
  8. Can someone gut-check if I’m being stupid? in short - full ride USC versus full ride LBJ and a 31k stipend. 31,000 stipend feels insane to me, and they seem to want me I think, as they emailed me out of the blue to add 11k to my originally generous stipend. As a Latina New Yorker I am nervous of never having visited Austin. And I loved USC’s focus on Latinos and immigration.... I should take the stipend no?
  9. Just for future records - Austin unprovoked emailed me this Saturday to offer me an increase in stipend, bumping me up to full tuition and 31k stipend
  10. Any update on USC deferring by any chance?
  11. no advice but for future applicants, i emailed to reconsider in a very brief email and got bumped an extra 5k a year.
  12. did anyone get an "update" to their letter? so far nothing seems different except that now it has confetti scrolling down the screen lol
  13. Do you know of the logistics of deferring? Or deferring while keeping funding? I’m also debating USC vs LBJ
  14. thanks!
