If they have sent the acceptance letter and we haven't received anything, does it mean we've been rejected? I don't want to be rejected ? I only applied for one university

I didn't get anything ... which means I've been rejected... I lost my only chance.

yeah! I am not planning to send them any more email.... I am just stressed out so bad and hoping this will have a happy ending

Hi, I reallllllllllly need some advice. I have applied for university of Washington. Before applying I emailed one of my POI, he/she responded and asked me to apply because it's up to university to decide which applicant or eligible for phd program. I've applied and then I emailed all my POI 2 more time in the past 1.5 month. but no respond. I'm freaking out, Is that a really bad sign? has anyone been accepted with the same situation before? what are my chances I am not from first tier university but like top 70, my gre verbal is lower than average but my Quant was close to full mark... I have more than 2 year of research and work experience in my area of interest

Mine is the worst because I only applied for one university (UofWashington) and non of the profs has responded ... probably been rejected but still waiting for the last drop of hope

Is it okay to email our POI and ask if they have any update on our application? (No idea if I been rejected or waitlisted)

@ray92 I have emailed them and they said they have no idea and they can not help I am 99% sure that I am rejected. I thought I won't be but I think I have to believe it now

@Reys The same, I had to finish my thesis as well and I don't have any hope... I can not concentrate and honestly, I don't have any motivation to continue ... I chose the hard way only because I wanted to be able to continue as PhD student BTW, may I ask, where have you applied?

any news? isn't there anyone who been accepted and can share their story with us? Specially from the HCI team

Hi guys, I have checked the submitted results and only 10 people have submitted that they been accepted. Do you think they still working on the results? I mean they have mentioned that the results will be posted First till Mid Feb, but still isn't 10 too low?

I am getting my master in computer science in IIT (Illinois Institute of Technology) with a GPA of 4.0. I am currently working on my thesis which is an ML and DM related. I have wone in 2 hackathons in last year, working in Data science related company as a part- term intern for the past 6 months and also has work experience before that. What odds to be accepted for University of Chicago HCI (Human-computer interaction)Ph.D. program ? also what do you think about Northwestern University? I have already applied and haven't got any update on my application and I just want to know what you guys think? I am really stressed out
