No, just polisci... it seems they use a waitlist rather than directly send and collect offers, which means they want to control the cohort size cautiously. I am also puzzled why there is no one claiming accept before I got waitlist
-
Claim a UCSD waitlist. email.
-
Good Q. I would find a position in govt/think tank/ngo and if I enjoy, likely I will not reapply, thinking life after phd might not be easy and interesting, not to mention 5-7 years of oppotunity cost.
-
Congrats! I still haven't heard about anything other than one rej. Seems things moving toward my epectation: all rejs lol
-
It might be an outlier, since it's told by poi which is unsual. they might have sort of private connection. BTW, i think most schools already know the results by now since they need a week or two to report to DGS
-
It is still there https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/?per_page=20&q=&institution=&program=Political+Science°ree= I m not sure, but i am only waiting for email
-
Right. 1. if they can find the results page, why cannot anyone show up here? 2. showing up here means they might face the demand for showing a screenshot or more details. and here we go again, a much early umich rej
-
My knowledge is, all schools in polisci assign the main task to committee. Some will ask poi's opinions if they find good candidates (afaik ucsd, stanford), some not (penn state, mcgill). i would think the former is the majority.
-
Are you asking if your potential POI has a say at some point of the process?

Since Berkeley doesnt require GRE, I am expecting it received much more apps than normal. The similar story was confirmed by a Canadian top school. No GRE can make some applicants who are otherwise looking bad stand out. I know a couple of students got in top with shitty GREs last cycle.

Seems legit, see the sub-comments there
-
Seems so, a third one, incl. cp and ir now
-
Just checked my portal, no change
-
I get that! I was trying to say not refreshing the portals while focusing on other stuff reduces anxiety. You can start an online game and when you get addicted to it for a few weeks, the cycle ends, and you will find time flies...
-
Yeah, I would agree, i saw somebdy posting: check each of their application portals multiple times a day...
-
actually, not refreshing portals reduces anxiety. do something else!
-
I mean, sure you will have 1-2 schools being surrenptitious...but in most cases, email comes first.
-
Mostly, if they want you, they are eager to tell you.
-
Refrain yourself from refreshing the portals guys. Results without email first are always rejections!
-
Someone claimed ucsd rej. anyone heard back?
-
That's really unnecessary anxiety. The worst case reapply next year with easier shot!
-
You too! mine was not a good fit, GWU takes in lots of intl security students.
-
Just checked portal, first rej, from GWU!
-
ah ...shootings in Chicago and colombia does not seem a nice department caring about students from my email exhange...
-
FYI: one of the top canadian school received 190 this year, still significantly higher than a normal year 120ish.
