We had 21 days from the day we received the official offer. I received mine on March 1st (I believe I was on the first day).- 565 replies

Your entire funding package should be viewable on Carleton Central, including any TA/RA positions you may have gotten! If they're not on Carleton Central, I'm fairly certain it means you just got a scholarship, but you can always email Tabbatha and double-check!- 565 replies

No, I haven't. Still waiting to hear back from a couple other programs but I'm not expecting any updates until after the NPSIA acceptance deadline so I may just have to accept for now.- 565 replies

Sorry to hear you didn't get the funding you had hoped for. However, even if you didn't get a guaranteed TA or RA position you can still apply if positions open in the fall! It's not guaranteed or anything, but it's a possibility. You don't even need to wait a semester to apply as long as positions are open- 565 replies

Ah ok good to know, thanks! I TAed last semester as well and got more than the 65hr half-TAship so I was initially disappointed but makes sense if it's common practice. I wish they made it more clear if there is a 'max' amount because it just looks inconsistent on the funding package. Another problem I have is that we have 21 days to accept/reject but I'm not expecting to hear back from my international applications until after 21 days. ?- 565 replies

I was given an RAship but only half TAship (even though generally if you awarded a TAship it should be full, as stated on Carleton’s funding website) and when I asked about it, admin said that my RAship “compensates” for the loss of half TAship. However, my RA funding is $5000 —less than the value of a half TAship. So I was effectively awarded an RAship worth -$6000 (16k in guaranteed funding from RA/TA instead of the 22k I would have been given had I not gotten a TAship).- 565 replies

Congrats!! Congratulations as well. My funding package is probably very similar to yours and that of @RLNCC180 but I’ve been frustrated at the TAship/RAship breakdown. It doesn’t really make sense in my opinion.- 565 replies

Did you get a full TAship & an RAship for the first year? Also, were you able to see who you are doing research for?- 565 replies
