  1. I'll look into UCF. I appreciate your suggestions! Thank you
  2. thank you!! I hear about Valdosta all the time living in Jacksonville. I looked up South Carolina State's website and printed off their application (talk about old school haha) they are still paper based. I appreciate the suggestion
  3. Definitely adding some of these schools to my list. I'm currently looking to possibly become an SLPA in Texas and give the applying process one last try. I've never been to Texas, any good areas you recommend? What was your SLPA experience like?
  4. Does anyone know of any programs that currently have rolling admissions? Or a spring/summer admissions option? THANK YOU.
  5. You're interview will go great!! Is it with Molly or Heather? They're the sweetest so don't be nervous. You can't work part time because they have so many vacancies to fill, i'll be honest I was 100% overwhelmed when I started, but I'm a very organized person and I handled it. You get a district level mentor and mine was Heather and I still constantly email her with questions and ask for guidance. I also am very close with my SLP evaluator and she has helped me out a lot too. Just ask questions and get to know the staff at the school or schools you're at. You can do it? Add me on instagram (mikaela_marie25) I'll gladly answer anymore questions you have!
  6. So I completed the basic part of the application, but the next page (supporting documents page) is sort of confusing.. It's asking me to upload my letters of recommendation? Usually those are to be sent to the school themselves? So am i supposed to get the letters of rec and upload them myself?
  7. Thank you so so much! Although I think I am average at best, I'd like to think my resume is pretty decent. I am going to look these all up now, I appreciate you!☺️
  8. ughh yesss! I am 100% applying and willing to move. THANK YOU TIMES A MILLION?
  9. You're so sweet! I'm trying to stay positive, but after 4 years its so hard. Where were you an SLPA? I've been looking at a lot of SLPA jobs in Texas.
  10. I appreciate all you had to offer, definitely have a lot to consider if I decide to reapply. Thank you so so much!!
  11. I'm writing down the schools you were accepted to, for future reference. Thank you so much for the advice!!
  12. How do you find those? Just a Google search? Also, I checked them out and saw their app. was due in February, but they're still looking for students?
  13. Jacksonville University (where I currently live), FSU-online, Ohio University, Marshall University, Central Michigan, Michigan State, Appalachian State, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Baldwin Wallace, Cleveland State. I think thats all.. there's probably more. I'm a terrible test taker so re-doing the GRE is not what I want to do.
  14. Thanks!! New to this whole grad cafe thing?
  15. Yes! I am wait listed and the school I interviewed at just sent a denial letter today.
  16. I'm from Ohio and moved to Florida for the past 2 years to bulk my resume by working as an SLP under a provisional license, I am willing to do anything! I've honestly applied all over, i'm not afraid to move and explore.
  17. I am currently doing this as well. I work for Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, FL.
  18. Where are all of you with low GPA's currently attending? I am you and I cannot get in anywhere. HELP SOS.
  19. This is my 4th time applying to grad school. I have been wait listed or denied everywhere I have applied for the last 4 years. For 3 of the 4 years I have worked and tried to do something in the field of speech pathology or close to it. I was a teachers aide for one year and the last 2 years I have worked in Florida at a middle school under a provisional license as a SLP maintaining a caseload of 70 students, writing IEP's, completing evaluations, working with AAC, etc. I had all the roles and responsibilities of a Masters Level SLP, but I was under the provisional license. I've had strong letters of recommendation written for me, I'd like to think my statement of purpose was strong as I had it edited by tons and tons of SLP's in the school district I am working in currently. In undergrad I was involved in CSD groups, had a job through the university mentoring incoming CSD freshman. My cumulative GPA was a 3.2, my GRE was verbal- 145, qualitative- 145, writing- 4. I am so frustrated being denied over and over again. When do you throw in the towel and say this just isn't meant for me? Although, it is also your biggest passion.
