I'm a current student at IXD program at Pratt, and honestly this program has been very disappointing. The program is still very much under development. It is under the school of information, which is very library-science focused. Although Pratt is famous for design, incoming students should be aware that this program does not place emphasis on visual design aspect of UX. It's very much focused on the research aspect of the UX design. The program also has very few full-time professors. A lot of non full-time professors tend to be busy as they have work outside of school, and their class tend to be less organized. There is a big difference in the quality of classes taught by full-time staff and non full-time. Also the school is not planning to increase the number of classes despite having increased number of incoming students this fall (2019), which will lead to worse instructor-to-student ratio.
