Absolutely no movement on my app at Wisconsin so odds are that's an L. It was my longest shot but you always have just a little hope for these things.

One more (Illinois State extended their deadline) but the anxiety is setting in. I keep saying I'm prepared (I applied to fewer schools than normal, it's more competitive than normal, etc.) but it's still worrying. But the prospect of another round of applications (a third one for me if it were to happen) is kind of anxiety-inducing as well.
Also some schools admit in weird time scales so hearing nothing doesn't necessarily mean bad news

Would anyone want to do an SOP swap?

I'm still torn. I have my MFA, I want a PhD in CW but also love literature. Don't know if i have a strong enough essay for PhD but am unsure if getting an MA on top of an MFA would just be excessive before a PhD

I'm applying to a few PhD programs with an MFA, but I'm also looking at MA programs that transition into the PhD like at IU and Ohio State. I'm mainly overcoming one very bad grade from a shitty prof affecting my master's GPA and also the weirdness of having an MFA and going into Lit.

I'm still waiting back from one school but I'm a pessimist so....
Hi! I'm wrapping up an MFA in Fiction and want to study American Gothic Literature, particularly in the 19th and 20th centuries and, eventually, focusing on the Midwest. I'll probably do what I did this season and split my apps between CW PhD and Lit

I only applied to 4 and didn't expect to get in anywhere, but got waitlisted at Western Michigan for a Creative Writing PhD! Idk what to do now other than vibrate quietly. It was also my weirdest application process I'm still surprised it went through.

If you've already submitted applications, then it's not worth stressing yourself out about.
Good luck everyone! Hopefully by next time this year all of you are sharing in the overwhelming sense of inadequacy like me!
I've only submitted one but still have some to go

I thought my GPA for my MFA was 3.75 but it's actually 3.4. I'm retaking the class that tanked me but am I totally fucked? My undergrad GPA is even worse.

If a program has a requirement of up to 20 pages, that means if you undershoot it by a couple pages it shouldn't be an issues, right?

I've actually gone though my list and only like 3 of my 10 are top 30. Idk if that's good or bad but I don't want to get too far from the midwest so

Hi everybody
I'm a current MFA Fiction student in my final year at Wichita State. I'm looking into my PHD right now and hoping to study 20th c. American, with a particular look towards the Midwestern Gothic and an interest in Folklore and Interdisciplinary work. I have no idea if my MFA will help or harm my application
