Is anyone else confused about where to find the link to the open house for the University of Toronto on April 6th online/how to RSVP? It says I need to RSVP in my acceptance email, but like...where? Edit - p.s. anyone on the waiting list for McMaster - there's another spot for you! Good luck!?- 1,373 replies

Hey everyone! So happy for all of us who got accepted! Keep your heads up if you didn't/didn't receive a letter yet. Took me a couple of times applying to get in. Not sure what's up with Western, but something's off there (must be the water). I just got into McMaster and UofT! So grateful and excited. ?? Any of you going to UofT wanna make a group to prepare/get to know each other? CONGRATULATIONS- 1,373 replies

My assumption is yes. I could be wrong, but most people applying have fairly competitive sGPA's so if they need something to distinguish they'd probably look at that as last measure.- 1,373 replies

No as far as I know. I went dressed up. But put a shirt on in case I'm wrong, but as far as I could tell no one saw me.- 1,373 replies

It cuts off, But you'll have more than enough time. Clear and concise answers. You get 2 minutes to read, 8 to answer - except for the written which total 8 including reading.- 1,373 replies

The online practice MMI things helped me. Find a process for your answers for different types of questions. And when you're practicing time yourself! I got a little flustered with one of the follow up questions because I only had a small amount of time left, so definitely time yourself. Take a deep breath, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!- 1,373 replies

I think they might be sending all responses out March 8th, I already received an interview at 3.94 sGPA, but some have lower sGPA's. Just hang in there, maybe they've only invited like first round that they've gone through. If you didn't get an interview they'll tell you - I was rejected last year. I don't think the pre-req is a huge determinant unless they can only accept so many interviews and you're tied with someone who has already completed it. But I really wouldn't think that would be a huge factor.- 1,373 replies

Another question about the MMI's. So it says for the five verbal sections I'll have 2 minutes to go over each question. Do you guys think I'll be able to write down a couple bullet points of my thoughts within that time just to make sure I cover the things I'm thinking? Maybe that's not a good idea. I'm just nervous ?- 1,373 replies

Hey guys! I got an interview sGPA 3.94. So happy (don't worry folks, it's not my first time applying - if not this time you'll get one next). Has anyone done the MMI before who would be gracious enough to help me prepare?- 1,373 replies

Does anyone know how flexible the MMI interview scheduling is? I have an opportunity to volunteer abroad from the 8th-14th...so if the interviews are 15-16 I could still do the volunteering, but I don't want to take the risk if there's even a small chance the 15th and 16th won't be available. I don't think I'll have great internet connection where I'm volunteering.- 1,373 replies

I got two emails. One purchase receipt. The other one says "You have successfully submitted your application. Your OUAC/ORPAS reference number...." and then a list of things I can do once they go through with my payment completely.- 1,373 replies

Try not to panic. Call your reference if you can, or even their superior and see if they know how to get in touch with them. You can email SAM but I'm not sure how helpful they'll be because the reference deadline is tonight. Also, as far as I know it's a personal/professional reference - you could call up a friend to do it in a pinch. Western says "A clinical reference will not be required. In its place, applicants must submit a professional or personal reference (using a third academic reference form) from someone who knows the applicant well from a non-academic setting (e.g. work supervisor, coach, clergy member, etc)." A friend does know you well from a non-academic setting. Not sure if that would be bending the rules, but it seems like it would be acceptable.- 1,373 replies

Here is what ORPAS says: If you attend, have attended or have withdrawn from a Canadian university or college outside of Ontario, you must contact the registrar’s office to arrange to have your transcript sent to ORPAS. ORPAS has established procedures with approved distribution centres to release their transcripts by electronic means. The collection of electronic transcripts is not an automated process. As long as the document is available to ORPAS by the transcript deadline, it will meet the deadline requirement. If your institution does not issue electronic transcripts, you must arrange with their registrar’s office to have an official paper copy sent to ORPAS. I can't remember but I thinkkkkk last year when I did it, I sent it not through electronic means but to the physical ORPAS centre: ORPAS170 Research LaneGuelph ON N1G 5E2 Although on Athabasca's transcript request https://www.athabascau.ca/registrar/_documents/transcript-request.pdf it says they're temporarily stopping physical copies because of COVID. I've emailed them so I'll let you know what they say. If they don't get back soon, I'd request a physical copy to the ORPAS location.- 1,373 replies

So I'm taking a couple of courses at Athabasca to increase my GPA, and I've found that I can condense courses if I take some time off work and get an individual course done really quick. I'm thinking I still have time to do one more class and it'll put my gpa at a pretty advantageous position. Do you guys think if I submit my transcript request like January 1st it should be ok? Even if it doesn't come by the 7th ORPAS says transcripts must be there by Jan 30th. Or do you think I might be pushing my luck a little too much? What's the latest you would submit a transcript request?- 1,373 replies

I was really surprised by this too! What do you think we'll be doing? Like you think that'll be more for general anatomy? Because you would think looking at vocal folds are articulators and things would be best with an individual who can produce speech.- 1,373 replies

Hey, just checking if anyone has any advice/has been in my position? So I should have 2 different transcripts from 1 university. I did my full time undergrad there, and then after graduation, signed up to do some open education classes to get a prerequisite. 2 different student numbers. Last year when I applied, my open education transcript didn't show up and significantly reduced my GPA + didn't show my linguistic prerequisite. This year, I've requested the second transcript 2 different ways just to make sure, but in document tracking it says there's only 1 transcript from that university. I emailed the university's open education system and they said they sent it off. But the ORPAS portal chat won't help at all, they say i need to wait until after January when I've submitted my application to talk about transcripts. Any advice on making sure they both show up before then?- 1,373 replies
