I ran into the same issue. It’s definitely risky, but I decided to do the prerequisites for my top choice program and luckily got in, so it worked out! I took online prerequisites through Longwood University and University of Wisconsin.

I was accepted to Emerson as well (for May cohort.) I was trying to decide between both schools and hear about scholarships, etc, and they were so nice and flexible about giving me an extension. I didn’t need an extension quite that long, but I would be honest with them saying you would like to hear back from another school first then to at least see what they say.

Last year, I took winter speech science through University of Wisconsin!

That would be awesome if we were both here in NYC!! Yes, hopefully we wouldn’t be sent too far, since I mainly take the subway!

I was also recently accepted to January 2020 cohort! Sent in my application around October 7th.

I am trying to decide between two online SLP programs that both seem great: Emerson and Baylor. I’m curious if anyone has any experience with clinical placements in either program or just in general coming from an online program? I’m located in NYC and wonder if choosing Emerson (in Boston) since it is closer, might lead to more connections in NYC. Or is it not too difficult to find placements no matter where you go to school? It’s my main concern! Thanks!
