  1. Hey! Did anyone who applied for OGS at UofT receive an email? I don't know where they are talking about to view the result. Here's part of the email: Dear OGS applicant, The Selection Committee for the Ontario Graduate Scholarship Program (OGS) at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto has completed the adjudication process for the 2021-2022 OGS awards. Please login to the School of Graduate Studies Forms Tool to view your result.

  3. Thanks for tagging that post from 2019! I have been trying to decide if I actually want to go to Laurier, as I was really set on getting accepted to U of T but didn't get accepted, so I am wondering if I would like the Laurier program or if I should keep trying to get into U of T! The more information I can find about Laurier's 2 year MSW program, the better.
  4. Does anyone know when the universities announced last year that classes would be online due to covid? Also I am deferring my acceptance to King's/Western, so hopefully someone on the waitlist there will get off soon.
  5. Nice! Maybe I received the information from another UBC campus? If not then maybe they needed two year full time work experience after studying at the time of applying! I was a bit under 2 years when applications would've been due.
  6. Congrats on getting into those programs! Did you apply to UBC's MSW with a Bachelor of Social Work? I didn't end up applying there because I remember reading that they were not accepting people to do a foundation year until at least 2022 (which I would apparently need since I have a Bachelor's degree other than Social Work).
  7. Thanks! I applied for the regular in person one.
  8. Thank you! I obtained a lot of experience working with international students, in a leadership capacity. I have a mix of work and volunteer experience. I finished my studies two years ago and I have gotten a lot of experience providing support (recreation and daily living skills) to variety of individuals who have developmental, intellectual, and physical disability as well as mental illness. If you have any other questions, feel free to DM me!
  9. Guys.. I just received an email: "Congratulations - you have been offered admission to Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, and we congratulate you on achieving this next step in your educational goals. Laurier offers a unique graduate experience, including the opportunity to pursue research and scholarly interests in a personalized environment that fosters a high standard of academic excellence." I was honestly surprised that they sent out my OGS rejection last week before my acceptance, I thought they would send it out the opposite way. But anyway, I am still pretty lucky to have gotten into the program! For those of you wondering, my last name starts with a C so it's probably going alphabetically. U of T is my first choice but I was waitlisted there. Does anyone have insight on Laurier's program compared to U of T?? Is it more or less clinically based or social justice oriented?

  11. Hey guys, I was wondering if there are people who got accepted or waitlisted to UofT, and UofT isn't their first choice? Or if there's anyone who's first choice is Western rather than UofT? Also is there anyone who got accepted to UofT who wants to defer their acceptance...I am curious if UofT will even allow for many people to do that and if that would make any different difference for us waitlisted folks!
  12. Oh i didn't realize, I got an email at 5:04pm ontario time.
  13. It seems to alphabetical because someone with the last name C as well as myself heard back at around the same time in the afternoon I think? I don't think anyone with last names from A-K heard back late last night, or did they?
  14. Last name C and waitlisted. Seems like a lot of people are too.
  15. I am in the same position as you!! I was accepted to Western but really want to get off the waitlist and accepted to UofT!
  16. Hey there... my last name is C too so I am anxiously hoping to get into U of T, and then as soon as I do (if I do) I will reject my offer to Western.
  17. I didn't get a good sleep either.. I am glad that work can be a distraction.
  18. Congrats! If you don't mind sharing, what time did you get notified yesterday? and is U of T your first choice?
  19. Sorry I misread it, that was when I asked about how many applied. I didn't count how many were accepted
  20. I counted there to be 15* people that either liked or commented when I asked in the other group.
  21. I am C so I get how you feel...I just want to know already that I have gotten in!! I am hoping that they roll out their most preferred applicants in today's round and then tomorrow they'll roll out A-Z less preferred but still accepted people...
